Anja will represent Germany in Miss Supranational 2016
There will be another very familiar name and face who will compete in Miss Supranational 2016 (which will be hosted in Slovakia and Poland from 19 November to 2 December
) alongside our Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2016 Joanna Eden.
“Presenting to you the new Miss Supranational Germany 2016 Anja-Vanessa Peter.
Anja is a tennis player, she has a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Business and is currently working on her Master’s degree in Organization and Communication. Anja also works as a model and as a host.
She was Miss Universe Germany 2015 1st runner-up & Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Top 15 Finalist.
Let us support her on her journey to the crown 👑 Thank you so much” ❤❤❤👍🇩🇪😁

Interestingly enough, both Anja-Vanessa and Joanna come from the same beauty camp (Kagandahang Flores) here in the country where they were pageant-trained. So it would be nice to see them as roommates once the competition in Europe starts reelings off 2nd half of next month.
Miss Supranational Germany franchise holder Frederick Lobaton is optimistic of Anja’s chances in the bigger challenge up ahead. The latter has already been immersed in trainings, workshops and photoshoots that will better equip her already polished self for the global pageant stage.
Miss Supranational Germany 2016 Anna-Vanessa Peter
Allow me to wish Anja the best in the mission for Germany. She may be representing another country, but she has already endeared herself to Filipino pageant fans here and worldwide. 🙂
Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach during her Farewell Walk and Speech as Miss Universe Philippines 2015 (Photo credit: Joy Arguil)
In all of my years of pageant coverage, I have never encountered a farewell speech delivered LIVE. Usually, the outgoing titleholder would record the same prior and expressed during the farewell walk and wherein she would only lip-sync a few important parts towards the end. That is, until last night when Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was given the privilege of doing a spontaneous recital of hers. It was very meaningful, and not a few eyes were left teary because of the emotions that really tugged at everyone’s heartstrings – be it inside the Big Dome or right in front of the television screens (keep in mind that this portion was already airing simultaneous with the ABS-CBN telecast
Watch the video now as recorded on the small screen.
It was truly a sight to behold with words that dramatically unfolded to the keen interest of all, including Miss USA Olivia Jordan who even gave her a standing ovation for the same. 🙂

Our Bb. Pilipinas titleholders of 2015
On this, the last day of their reigns as Bb. Pilipinas 2015 winners, allow me to pay a brief homage to the most successful batch of titleholders in the modern history of the country’s premiere beauty pageant. This is the quintet which represented us overseas and came home either as the victors or in respectable overall placements.
Miss Universe Philippines 2015 and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach
Bb. Pilipinas International 2015 and Miss International 2015 Top 10 Janicel Lubina
Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2015 and Miss Intercontinental 2015 1st Runner-Up and Queen of Asia-Oceania Christi Lynn McGarry
Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2015 and Miss Supranational 2015 Top 20 finisher Rogelie Catacutan
Bb. Pilipinas Tourism/Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2015 and Miss Globe 2015 Ann Lorraine Colis
Thank you for bringing pride and honor to our country. Thank you for bringing the best of the Filipina beauty to the world, the Universe rather. And thank you for being shining examples of pageant royalty and grace.
Exactly an hour after winning last year, the Bb. Pilipinas 2015 titleholders
Your efforts will long be remembered, Pia, Janicel, Christi, Rogelie and Ann! 😀
Former Binibinis (left to right) Tanya Hyde, Anja Peter and Nancy Leonard are now in the running for Century Tuna Superbods
They were all Binibinis of Bb. Pilipinas 2015. But instead of trying their luck in the nationals once more or another beauty competition for that matter, Anja-Vanessa Peter, Nancy Leonard and Tanya Hyde are now in the hunt for the Century Tuna Superbods title that will seek to transform them into even sexier and figure-emulating role models of fitness and healthy eating.
These three ex-Binibinis will put into full practice what they have learned during their time in the country’s premiere beauty pageant and work their way up into a different alley of public adulation.
Only one will eventually win the female category of Century Tuna Superbods come April 10 at the Palace Pool Club. Will it be one of these three Binibinis? 😉
April 10 is when this year’s winners will be known
Nancy Leonard = Bb. Pilipinas 2016 Official Candidate?
Nancy Leonard was a favorite during Bb. Pilipinas 2015. She was one of the Kagandahang Flores candidates expected to do very well in that batch, alongside Janicel Lubina, Hannah Ruth Sison and Rogelie Catacutan who took their due placements during the finals.
Not the type to get easily discouraged, Nancy returned to her normal life for more than a few months before making a firmer decision to train for the next clash of beauties. And my contacts are telling me that she has indeed improved a lot. The photos above were taken around 3rd quarter last year. So I am keen in seeing how much her present styling and aura have been polished to a pat.
Watch out for Nancy Leonard 2016! 🙂
Kimberle Mae Penchon was already an Official Candidate of Bb. Pilipinas 2015 but backed out due to her commitments as Miss Beauche International 2014.
The memory still lingers fresh in my mind. After all, it was only last Bb. Pilipinas 2015 when Kimberle Mae Penchon applied, passed all the screenings and was handed an envelope congratulating her as one of the Official Candidates. But no sooner than she can enjoy at least twelve hours of being named Binibini 9, the small bomb was dropped. She decided to back out. She chose a hard-to-turn-down offer from Beauche International (where she was still reigning titleholder at the time
) over the chance to compete for one of the BPCI national titles.
But now that Kimberle has already relinquished her Beauche International crown to Steffy Aberasturi, will she regain the steel nerves to go through the nerve-wracking process all over again and take the risk (it is a marked risk in her case)? Do you, dear readers, think that it is a calculated move if ever? Or will it spell possible disappointment instead?
If Kimberle asks my opinion, I’d say “go for it!” She was already convincing enough last year to make it to the roster. And my hunch is that she has already improved much by now.
I would really love to see this lovely comer from Agoo, La Union give it another try. 🙂
Can Kimberle Mae Penchon be re-considered for Bb. Pilipinas 2016?
Ready to be wowed by Cynthia Tomalla from Cebu?
Some of you might be wondering why I haven’t featured Cynthia Tomalla yet. Truth of the matter is that – exactly three (3) years ago today
– I already did a blog post on this knockout beauty from Southern Leyte when she was just barely 18. If you don’t believe, then click on this LINK
and read the content and the date it went live.
Last year, Cynthia – who was already a Tourism major at University of Cebu-Banilad where she regularly makes it to the Dean’s List – was encouraged to join Miss Mandaue 2015 where she eventually placed 1st Runner-Up to Ena Velasco. Not bad for the native of Macrohon who held the title of Miss Pintados 2013 in her home province.
This 21 year-old really has the face that could launch a thousand ships or looks that can give any Barbie doll a new template for mass production. And if she has reached a point where she would be ready to go full-blast in the nationals, she could be one of the more easy-to-recall joiners.
Will Cynthia Thomalla present herself at Araneta Center soon? I’d really like to see that happening. 🙂
More than beauty queen looks, Cynthia is definitely of showbiz material
