Miss Mexico in the 65th Miss Universe is Cristal Silva
Yuselmi Cristal Silva Davila is Mexico’s bet in the 65th Miss Universe starting next week. And this won’t be the beautiful Latina’s first trip to the Philippines. You see, she already took part in Miss Earth 2013 (the year Alyz Henrich of Venezuela won) where she finished in the Top 8.
The Cristal Silva we will be seeing for 2017 is quite the nice upgrade from the Miss Earth Mexico we experienced more than three years ago today. This 25 year-old from Tamaulipas prepared long and hard for her return stint. She wants to do a lot better in Miss Universe. Wearing the sash of Mexico is more than enough pressure to exceed her 100% best.
Cristal Silva 2.0 is definitely a big upgrade from her Miss Earth days
There is a palpable sense of fierceness in the current styling of Cristal. And while she may not exude the softer beauty that some of the other talked-about contenders possess, hers won’t definitely go unnoticed.
She is in it to win it.
Your comments on Miss Universe Mexico, dear readers?

Two former Miss Earth Beauties will battle it out for Miss Multiverse 2015 in Congo. There’s Miss Philippines Angelee delos Reyes from Miss Earth 2013 (Top 8) of course. And then there’s Miriam Odessa of Tanzania, Miss Air 2008. Who will prevail between the two of them?
Both are highly competitive ladies. And I reckon that they will tackle the reality pageant with confidence and lots of personality. Who’s your bet? 🙂
Miriam Odemba is hauntingly captivating in her share of photos here.
Is Miss Earth 2013 Alyz Henrich open to joining Philippine showbiz? Not now, but maybe after she relinquishes her crown.
Do Miss Venezuela winners get lifetime pensions and free houses? Do they enroll in a school for beauty queens? Is it a must for them to undergo cosmetic surgery?
Our 2013 Earth Warrior answered these questions during her TV guesting on Aquino & Abunda Tonight. And I can say now that her English has improved. And she can take on host Boy Abunda more confidently this time around. Watch. 😉
The Earth warriors from all over the globe will be arriving in Manila soon!

In just a matter of weeks, the Philippines will start welcoming the confirmed delegates of Miss Earth 2014. And the local and international pageant world will be abuzz with all the environmental and medal-winning activities that the organizers have lined up for this year’s batch of earth warriors.
Green Sun Hotel: Official Residence of Miss Earth 2014 delegates
Reigning Miss Earth Alyz Henrich is already in the country to help promote the pageant, as well as to film new videos that will serve as backdrops to the November 29 finals to be held at the UP Theater in Diliman, QC. While the venue will certainly not excite fans and followers anymore, it still remains as the better choice compared to the clubhouse area of Versailles Palace in Alabang. As such, expect a more TV- and audience-friendly set-up this time around.
By the way, this year’s Official Residence is the newly-built Green Sun Hotel in Makati City.
Do check out the pre-arrival photos of the 2014 candidates HERE.
Back in the loving arms of UP Theater, Miss Earth 2014 will be.
And just to reminisce a bit, watch the Eco-Beauty video of the reigning Miss Earth during last year’s competition.
Could she really be our bet in Miss Universal Peace & Humanity 2014?
One of the latest buzz in the local pageant scene is that Miss Philippines Earth 2013 and Miss Earth 2013 Top 8 Angelee Claudett delos Reyes is being seriously eyed to represent the country in yet another international beauty competition. No final confirmation as of this writing. But if plans don’t miscarry, she could be bound for Cyprus and Lebanon – the twin country hosts for Miss Universal Peace and Humanity 2014 scheduled to take place on September 21.
I don’t see any problem if she does. Her contract with Carousel Productions has already been fully served. And this determined lady should be ready and willing to take on a new challenge.
Now the only nagging question in my mind is if Angelee is open to taking the risk of participating in a lesser-known pageant that doesn’t have an established track record.
April 22 is #EarthDay!
#MissEarth supports the promotion of #GreenCities. With smart investments in sustainable technology, forward-thinking public policy, and an educated and active public, we can transform our cities and forge a sustainable future.
Do your share in keeping our (respective) cities green and clean. It’s always best to protect and preserve the environment, especially where we all live in. 😀
Just very recently, Miss Earth 2013 Alyz Henrich went to Harghuda, Egypt to take part in the United Nations-sponsored “Let’s Take Care of the Planet’s Youth Conference on Environment and Biodiversity” held in Elgouna from March 3-11. She was accompanied by Ms. Peachy Veneracion, one of the pillars of Carousel Productions which started the eco-focused beauty pageant.
Slowly but surely, Miss Earth is building a very positive image around the world. And with the busy activity slate Alyz is looking at between now and the third quarter of 2014, she is indeed on the right track to make her reign just as memorable (or possibly more than memorable) compared to either Tereza Fajksova and Olga Alava.
And so, we are nearing full circle with Miss Earth 2013 Alyz Henrich of Venezuela. Below is a video of this beautiful Goddess showing how responsible a beauty queen she is to cancer-stricken kids. I love her down-to-earth ways as Miss Falcon in Miss Venezuela 2012 to her proclamation as Miss Venezuela-Tierra all the way to her fateful trip to Manila where she was eventually crowned as the 2nd winner of the environment-focused beauty title from her country.

Okay, guys, are you doing some last-minute shopping? Well, good luck. It ain’t the easiest when you’re haggling for bargains out there and the crowds are at its thickest.
But once over and done with, reward yourself with a relaxing foot massage while sipping lemongrass juice from a tall glass. 😉
Watch the video below featuring the Miss Earth 2013 winners being interviewed by Ginger Conejero for the ANC Channel’s Morning Show. All four are really deserving, but none moreso than both Alyz and Katia.
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
