And the Binibinis are back in action!
The pandemic may still be rearing its ugly head, but life goes on. And Bb. Pilipinas is going full steam ahead this 2021 with the finals set for April 17.
For the Season 4 Premiere of #PageantryNorms on The Philippine Pageantry and its YouTube channel, three of the beautiful contenders (each representing parts of the country’s three major islands) will grace the online program to share their excitement in the resumption of activities and what they are looking forward to the most.
#Binibini17 Justine Felizarta of Padada, Davao del Sur
#Binibini18 Karen Laurrie Mendoza of Iloilo City
#Binibini28 Francesca Taruc of Angeles City
Catch them later at 4pm. Throw in your questions and take part in the discussion.
This is just part 1 of the themed episodes of Pageantry Norms for the pageant. More will follow later on in the season.

It was a meet-and-greet I simply couldn’t say no to. For starters, having an event like this happens in Alabang (or the south of Metro Manila) very rarely. Since I reside in Parañaque, going to Molito Lifestyle Centre is a breeze. Secondly, I discovered my not-so-distant blood relations with the honoree. My paternal grandmother and her father are aunt and nephew, respectively. And for that matter, the very first Bb. Pilipinas – her aunt Myrna Panlilio – is also common in our thread.
Here are some photos and videos from the meet-and-greet with #Binibini1 Samantha Alexandra Panlilio of Cavite and invited members of the pageant media.
Below, she answers a few questions from your blogger:
Now, she talks about part of her advocacy as a potential Beauty Queen:
And will she be the next “Samantha” to be crowned Bb. Pilipinas?
Samantha Panlilio – in person – tends to give me an Elizabeth Clenci vibe to be honest. She has this cool aura about her. If she can channel more of this and up her ante even more, then I won’t be surprised if she finds herself on the shortlisted beeline for one of the crowns on April 17.
Good luck, Sam!

Rabiya and boyfriend Neil
It was a lovely intimate dinner last night with Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo and her boyfriend Neil and my dear friend Voltaire Tayag. Louie Heredia hosted our small gathering at the Ninyo Fusion Cuisine and Wine Lounge in Quezon City.
So nice to spend quality time with our Queen at her most relaxed mode. I truly appreciated having her in our midst as more of an ordinary individual than a titleholder. She was very receptive to all our comments and tips about how she can fine-tune her way of expression as well as differing her style of communication based on the nature of the talk. Voltaire and I focused a bit on how to make her sound less academic (read: teacher) and more spontaneous.
The presence of her boyfriend Neil also helped us to size up the dynamics in their relationship. The guy is very supportive of Rabiya in more ways than one. The pair confessed that the controversy last week regarding the Missosology interview and the Jam Magno vlogs affected them. But positively, it made them stronger and are now able to handle such issues more bravely.
You really need to see and feel the new Rabiya in person to appreciate her gradual transformation. The coming days and weeks will see her deep in training for Miss Universe and I can’t wait to give you more updates.

Below is a video of Miss Grand Philippines Samantha Bernardo from inside her room at Golden Tulip Sovereign Hotel in Bangkok. This is Day 1 of her Quarantine:
For those curious about the departure outfit that Bb. Pilipinas Grand International 2020 Samantha Bernardo wore earlier (and which will also be her arrival ensemble in Thailand), read below:
A TRIBUTE TO THE LAND OF SMILES, THAILAND 🇹🇭
Samantha Bernardo is wearing a modern take on the Chut Thai, the traditional garment of Thailand created by Cyrus Gueta Couture. The ivory color symbolizes elegance and purity, embellished with clear glass beads and crystals that denotes wisdom and compassion which are Buddhist virtues. The accents of gold is to attract good fortune and abundance. The lines and color were made clean and simple to bring out the beauty of the Filipina skin. To complete the look, her hair is adorned with a gold ornament.

Here are departure photos of Bb. Pilipinas Grand International 2020 Samantha Bernardo at NAIA before boarding her Philippine Airlines flight that will leave for the Land of Smiles where she will join the other candidates vying for Miss Grand International.
She was seen at the airport by the KF Crown.Glory.Legacy team led by Rodgil Flores, as well as her loved ones.
Best of luck in the competition, Sam!

From the Bicol region comes Danica Theresa Sheen Dilla who is the tallest Miss World Philippines aspirant so far at a clean 5’10”. She is from Aces & Queens.
24 year-old Dhan is a Flight Attendant of Philippine Airlines who measures 34-24-36. She comes from Iriga City and is a product of the annual Miss Bicolandia where she finished in the Top 5 last 2019 when your blogger was part of the judging panel.
This Bicolana is sweet and well-spoken. And her competitive height and soulful eyes could be her biggest pluses in the national pageant.
Good luck, Dhan!
