Will our 7th Miss International be crowned soon? Will Atty. Bea Patricia Magtanong be the one to bring us that honor and follow the glorious trail started by the six women above?
We will all know during Tuesday night’s finals of Miss International 2019 LIVE from Tokyo Dome City Hall in Bunkyo district, Tokyo, Japan.
Earlier this week, Miss World Philippines 2019 Michelle Marquez Dee paid a visit to Autism Society Philippines along with her mom Melanie and siblings Manuel & Mazeen for showing their unconditional support to the organization with their messages of acceptance and appreciation.
I reckon that this advocacy will be the main focus of her BWAP Project for Miss World 2019 being that she has been involved with them for a long time now.

Meanwhile, here is the interview with the other titleholders:
I always love strong and confident ladies who go the pageant route. And Michelle Marquez Dee is one of them. We actually saw each other at Empire Studios earlier and the daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez is visibly excited to be finally doing Miss World Philippines this year.
Watch out for more about this tall and gorgeous young woman soon!

It makes more sense for Michelle Marquez Dee to gun for a Miss Universe Philippines title more than any other crown. After all, her mom Melanie is already the family’s Miss International so – if she does seriously sign up for Bb. Pilipinas 2018 – being the successor of Rachel Peters is the only spot she is aiming for.

Now about that sensitive question on whether Michelle transferred beauty camps – is it still an issue? As far as I am concerned, let us just allow the girl to train and be molded where she wants to. The end goal is and will always be the Philippines in mind and heart. Anything in between is like a middleman who will help in achieving that goal, regardless of who takes responsibility for doing so.

As some of you may know by now, the Final Screening of Miss World Philippines 2017 will take place this coming Saturday, July 29. I am not at liberty to share the exact venue first since it will be a closed-door activity with restricted access.
Miss World Philippines Organization General Manager Bessie Besana has already given out clues to the bullet profiles of the ladies who managed to submit their application forms before the end of the day last July 22. And one of the more obvious references is former Binibini Teresita Ssen Marquez who is classified as “actress and niece of a Miss International”. Can it get any clearer than that description?
Anyways, we all know that Wyn-Wyn is definitely aspiring to become a certified beauty queen and Miss World Philippines could be the most appropriate venue for her to do so. Will she finally show up and screen for this one?
Your thoughts, dear readers?
Actually, Michelle is already a small celebrity in her own right, having been made an image model of Bench Clothing, aside from the perennial association with Melanie. But will this tall and oriental-looking (she got a significant part of her features from father Derek Dee) come into her own and establish an identity that will be uniquely hers? Well, for starters, joining Bb. Pilipinas 2017 would be the first step. While I don’t see her as fitting the mold of Miss International just yet, who knows what styling she will take into once she makes the move to show up, sign up and step up.
My sources are saying that she could be one of the torchbearers for Kagandahang Flores this season.
Watch out for more updates on Michelle Marquez Dee.
Now, Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez might get a brighter chance with her daughter (with Derek Dee) Michelle to fulfill the dream of having someone follow her colorful trail as a titleholder. And by the looks (and height) of this newly-signed Bench endorser, the chances of achieving full bloom as a Bb. Pilipinas winner is getting brighter.
What are your thoughts on Michelle Dee? Does she have what it takes to approximate – if not surpass – her mother’s achievements? 🙂

A screencap of the news item by Ruel Mendoza that quoted Melanie Marquez as giving the full vote of confidence to her niece, Binibini 34 Teresita Ssen Marquez

But when the older one was quoted as saying that “Sure winner na si WinWyn!” (WinWyn is already a sure winner!), the pronouncement is enough to send a string of not-so-strong-but-still-felt shock waves to pageant fans, followers and even the other candidates of Bb. Pilipinas 2015.
Some will take it as just an attention-grabbing one-liner of Melanie to keep her niece’s level of confidence up. At the same time, though, it can also be interpreted by others as stating the hard-to-ignore obvious or pulling weight the kind of way that could leave levels of discomforts high among the hardworking handlers and cheering squads of Winwyn’s opponents. All things being equal, Binibini 34 can climb up the ladder on her own merits. And she is already considered one of the contenders before this.
But at the end of the day, it cannot be denied that her all-celebrity trifecta (aunt Melanie, mother Alma Moreno and father Joey Marquez) will do whatever they can to help their beloved Winwyn get an advantage. 😉
