During the Festival Costume Competition of Misters of the Philippines 2014 held at the Atrium of Fisher Mall in Quezon City, five (5) hopefuls wowed the crowd with their respective attires and were named Top 5 in the fast-track event. They are (in random order
): Mark Andrew Baron of Navotas, Neil Perez of Tondo, Edviro Fuentes Jr. of Samar, Timothy Justin Ancheta of Quezon City and Patrick Dimayuga of Batangas.
One of them will be declared top winner on finals night and will automatically advance to the Top 14.
Congratulations, Misters! 😀
P.S. Thanks to my friend Dencio Natividad who covered the event.
Another P.S. Below are the close-ups of the Top 5 Festival Costumes. Inviting a victory vibe, maybe? 😉
Ben Chan (in black coat) and some of his celebrity topbillers for this year's Bench Denim and Underwear Show
Last Friday, an exclusive preview was held for the Press to drum up “The Naked Truth”, the Bench Denim and Underwear Show scheduled on September 19 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Present were some of the celebrities who will walk the ramp wearing the latest collection in the clothing brand’s OJ Denim and Bench Body lines. The likes of actors Tom Rodriguez, Dennis Trillo, Martin del Rosario and Dominic Roque graced the event, as well as singer and indie performer Markki Stroem, athlete Arnold Van Opstal, international model Allison Harvard and Miss World 1st Runner-up Gwen Ruais.
The show will try to raise the bar for 2014 by pushing the envelope in the show’s concept and revelations. And it would be an understatement to say that this is going to be the hottest ticket to get a hold of.
So if I were you, I’d start shopping (splurging if you will) at Bench to receive an invite. 😉

The winners of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 are happily province-hopping
(L-R): 2nd Runner-up Kim Fyfe, Mutya Overseas Communities Patrizia Bosco, Mutya Asia-Pacific International Eva Patalinjug, Mutya Tourism International Glennifer Perido and 1st Runner-up Cristine Racel in Lapu-Lapu City
The winners of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 must be following a hectic schedule of late, but nothing that would compare to their back-breaking daily grind before making it to the magic circle during the finals. They call it personal appearances. I call it a tour of duty that adds more meaning to their reign.
From what started as photoshoots in Puerto Princesa’s Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa, the five ladies moved on to the Queen City of the South where they made courtesy calls to the officials of Lapu-Lapu, Cebu and Mandaue Cities to an outreach program with the orphaned children at the Asilo dela Milagrosa to sponsor visits at Titay’s. A tour of the city’s churches also followed. They also went to Negros Occidental where the waters of Mambukal Mountain Resort in Murcia welcomed them with a splash. From there, they moved on to the Ruins in Bacolod City, with pit stops at the PNP (Philippine National Police) Region 7 Headquarters.
It appears that the organizers are really making it their while as the current titleholders, while maximizing their exposure around the country. I hope they head to other key cities in Luzon and Mindanao very soon. 🙂
Mr. World Philippines 2015 Sam Ajdani as photographed by Rxandy Capinpin
In the latest photoshoot
of Mr. World Philippines 2015 Sam Ajdani taken at Marco Polo Ortigas, Photographer Rxandy Capinpin used his masterful lens to capture the global male beauty of our representative to next year’s Mr. World.
Arranged and styled by Yahoo Southeast Asia’s Kai Magsanoc with grooming by Rose Abastillas of Make-up Designory Philippines, Sam Ajdani displays his well-sculpted (and hard-earned) body that will be part of his key armaments in creating a strong impact amongst the world’s most desirable men in the 2015 edition that will seek to find the successor of Nicklas Pedersen.
While the competition won’t happen until around ten months from now, Sam doesn’t rest in improving himself in more ways than one. In an excerpt from the captions that came with the pictorial, he told Yahoo Philippines that “I’m trying to be as fit as possible, and I am already watching videos of past Mister World competitions.”

Our 2014 Bb. Pilipinas Queens - MJ, Kris, Bianca, Yvethe and Parul - as photographed by Bruce Casanova
The Queens clowning for the camera
When Photographer Bruce Casanova uploaded the five-in-one portrait (see above
) of our Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Queens, I got inspired once more to come up with this short Sunday feature on who among them will be the best ever in this batch.
Without a doubt, Miss Universe Philippines 2014 Mary Jean ‘MJ’ Lastimosa could be it if she wins our 3rd Miss Universe crown. Bb. Pilipinas International 2014 Mary Anne Bianca Guidotti and Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2014 Yvethe Marie Santiago are also in the running if they achieve the rare back-to-back wins in Tokyo and Krynica-Zdrój, respectively. And not to be outdone, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2014 Kris Tiffany Janson can also pull some weight if she nails the country’s first victory in Jordan. I really wish I could say something about Parul at this point. But the lack of clarity regarding a pageant assignment leaves me no choice but to simply wish that something is in the offing for her.

In the end, I want 2014 to be the best group of Bb. Pilipinas winners ever – much better than their predecessors.
Is that too much to ask, dear readers? 😉
Diva Montelaba: Will the GMA-7 TV actress bite the pageant bug for 2014?
The whispers are no longer hushed. The buzz is getting louder by the day. Rumor has it that GMA-7 actress Diva Montelaba is possibly considering taking a new route different from her showbiz career – she is currently in the cast of the top-rating teleserye “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real” (The Two Mrs. Reals) – and that is to join the beeline for Miss World Philippines 2014.
There are also floating talks that Ms. Cory Quirino could be shying away from mestizas and mixed-race Filipinas for this year and is leaning towards a very Pinay-looking candidate for Miss World 2014. And this kind of chika tends to augur well for dear Diva. I’ve witnessed the blossoming of her career – from being a Starstruck runner-up all the way to becoming an excellent jazz/hip-hop dancer (who also sings on the side) and a competent dramatic performer. And if schedules won’t be a problem with her taping commitments, there is a good chance we might see her jumping to a new direction now instead of 2015.

Is KF (possibly in coordination with GMA Artist Center) ready to field this 5’8″-ish stunner? Or is there another beauty from the network (watch out for my blog on that tomorrow) being eyed to take part instead? 😉

Osmel Sousa giving the thumbs up to his new set of Miss Venezuela official hopefuls
It takes a lot to make Osmel Sousa a very happy man. Given his high standards for beauty – perfectionist even – he will not settle for anything less than the steep benchmarks he is world-renowned for. And the final assembly of Official Candidates
for Miss Venezuela 2014
has elicited a big smile on his face (left photo
). Who wouldn’t be excited with this group?
How about you, dear readers? Who among the ladies do you fancy? 😀
