What do dogs and Halloween have in common? Well…..nothing much really, except for their howls associated with scary flicks. But then again, they make cool subjects for photos like the ones above. It’s no secret that I love and adore dogs to bits, so if I can put them in the mix with Halloween, then why not? I’d love to see them trick or treating with the kids. Happy Halloween to one and all! 😉

Ashley McGarry is representing the Philippines in the ongoing Miss Intercontinental 2010 competition in the Dominican Republic.
The Miss Intercontinental 2010 is ongoing in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The winner will be crowned next Saturday, November 6. The Philippines is represented by Mutya ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific 2010 Christi Lynn ‘Ashley’ Landrito McGarry, a Fil-Am from the US East Coast. People ask why she was sent here instead of Mutya ng Pilipinas-Intercontinental 2010 Carla Lizardo. Unfortunately, a close relative of Carla died during a fire recently and asked if the organizers can send someone else. Ashley was promptly called to fill in her shoes and agreed to a switch of pageant (Carla will now be going to the Miss Asia-Pacific next year).
Let’s wish Ashley the best of luck in the pageant! 😉
Alexandria Mills became the 3rd Miss United States of America to clinch the Miss World crown after she was proclaimed winner over 114 other delegates in the just-concluded finals of Miss World 2010 at the Crown Convention Center in Sanya, China. Emma Wareus of Botswana placed 1st Princess, while Adriana Vasini of Venezuela earned 2nd Princess honors.
Alexandria takes over as Miss World from last year’s winner, Kaiane Aldorino of Gibraltar. She now has the distinction of being the 60th Miss World and its Diamond Anniversary titleholder.
Congratulations, Alexandria!
Tonight, the 60th Miss World will be crowned at the Crown Convention Center in Sanya, China. This year’s winner will have the honor of being the pageant’s Diamond Anniversary winner, on top of besting 114 other ladies for the crown.
Honestly, it is difficult to do armchair judging for Miss World because it has the reputation of being either too predictable or the exact opposite. Pageant fans holler that certain countries are always favored year after year or that one or two delegates would always take a shine among the judges and become favorites in all fast-track events. This year, Miss Norway is an obvious high scorer, having topped the Miss World Top Model, aside from placing high in the Beach Beauty and Sports categories. She is now assured of being called among the Top 25.
All things being equal, here are the 25 candidates (in alphabetical order) I have selected as my personal favorites for this year. Many thanks to Global Beauties for the images of the ladies below…..
It’s close to impossible predicting who among them will be the winner, but I would hazard a guess and handpick the ladies of Norway, Ireland, Puerto Rico, United States and Belgium to come out on top. If you notice, three of them are fast-track winners which give a clearer hint on who the organizers would love to see as Miss World 2010.
Good luck to all the girls!!! 😉
MISS VENEZUELA-UNIVERSE is…
MISS VENEZUELA-WORLD is…
MISS VENEZUELA-INTERNATIONAL is…
MISS VENEZUELA-EARTH is…
First Runner-Up is…
In what is deemed as the classiest (and probably the lengthiest) national pageant in the world, four ladies were crowned as the queens of Venezuela for 2010/2011. Vanessa Goncalves of Miranda, Ivian Sarcos of Amazonas, Jessica Barboza of Distrito Capital and Caroline Medina of Aragua took top spots as Miss Venezuela Universe, Miss Venezuela World, Miss Venezuela-International and Miss Venezuela Earth, respectively. Angela Ruiz of Monagas placed 1st Runner-Up.
Osmel Sousa must be very happy with his new set of winners! I’m sure Venezuela will perform strongly in all pageants next year.
Personally, my predictions this year aren’t that good. I accurately predicted Ivian Sarcos of Amazonas for the Miss Venezuela-World title and Miss Miranda Vanessa Goncalves to be in the Top 5, but that’s all. I’m a bit disappointed that Romina Palmisano of Carabobo did not place, but that’s life.
Congratulations to the new queens!!!
Miss Philippines Krista Kleiner is proving that she is one of the most popular and beautiful among the 68 ladies vying for Miss International 2010. Global Beauties is acknowledging that by putting her on top of their latest rankings.

Hopefully, she doesn’t lose steam and continues to impress everyone within the next 10 days before the Golden Anniversary winner of Miss International gets crowned on November 7.
Go, go, go, Krista! 😉
Tonight is the night for Miss Venezuela 2010/11. Three new queens will be crowned and they will represent the pageant superpower in the Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss International competitions next year. Among the 28 Official Candidates, I shortlisted the 10 ladies who I feel will figure out well in the finals. I hope to duplicate my record last year when I was able to predict 4 of the Top 5. We’ll see….
Anyways, here are my Top 10 in alphabetical order…
Now…if I had to pick my Top 5 from the 10 ladies, I will go for…
I would love to see Miss Carabobo win the Miss Venezuela-Universe crown, with Miss Amazonas clinching the Miss Venezuela-World title and Miss Lara completing the troika as Miss Venezuela-International. Either Miss Trujillo or Miss Miranda can be considered as their representative to Miss Earth 2011.
Good luck to all the ladies! 😉

You might have missed this episode last week or just want to watch the whole thing over again. The 8 remaining teams of The Amazing Race Asia 4 dropped by the Philippines for one leg in Legaspi City with the pitstop at the posh Misibis Bay. Here are the videos in four parts…
Thanks to Youtube/SLWarrioRXXX for the videos above.
Watch a fresh new episode tomorrow night, as the 7 teams left in the race will go to Christchurch, New Zealand for a truly nerve-wracking challenge that will either make them back out or face the dare and the thrill head-on!
Hosted by Allan Wu, The Amazing Race Asia Season 4 airs on the AXN channel every Thursday at 9pm. 😉
Krista Kleiner, our representative in the Miss International 2010 currently ongoing in Chengdu, China, continues to wow everyone with her effervescent presence, beautiful face and winning personality. Her confidence lever is at an all-time high and this really helps when putting her best foot forward around everyone. According to a colleague covering the pageant, there was this one incident when the ladies were introduced in their respective national costumes. The moment Krista took centerstage, she was asked by the host if it is true that she can do kung-fu, to which she replied on the affirmative. He was about to ask her to do a small demonstration but hesitated since she was wearing a layered dress and all.
Lo and behold, Krista had her nanchucks discretely hidden inside her wide sleeves. She immediately pulled them out and played in front of a pleasantly surprised and applauding audience! Whatta girl!
Finals of the pageant is not until November 7, but this early, Krista might just give us cause for celebration next month – be it winning the crown or landing a spot in the Top 3! 😉
The grand finals will be this coming Thursday, October 28. Watch out for the winners in this blog! 😉
