If you think that the Miss Universe competition is nothing but superficial friendships and eternal backstabbing, think again. There are always down times during the pre-pageant activities where the ladies just sit and enjoy each other’s company without having to look fully made-up. This is where lasting friendships start to develop.
Miss Haiti Anedie Azael took the initiative of recording a video inside the hospitality room, i.e., the neutral zone inside the Hilton Sao Paulo Morumbi. Right now, the girls may still seem shallow in relating with one another. But in a couple of weeks more, they will be posing for photos and videos like true sisters.
Miss Ukraine Olesya Stefanko
Miss Egypt Sara El-Khouly
You don’t see them too much in the photo coverages of Miss Universe 2011 but these two ladies actually deserve to get equal attention because they are simply gorgeous. Olesya Stefanko of Ukraine and Sara El-Khouly of Egypt are just waiting for their time to shine bright in the competition.
But believe me, getting your precious flashes of fame in Sao Paulo requires more than just pretty faces. Aggressiveness is an important card to play and be playful with. And with this comes the interest of photographers to click their cameras not just once or twice but in every covered event.
Stand out, ladies, stand out!😉
In the lovely grounds of Hilton Sao Paulo Morumbi, some of the Miss Universe 2011 delegates were asked to pretty themselves up to have some photo-shooting time. These ladies are still at that point of not experiencing the heavy pressure of the pageant so we’ll see who will remain regal and gorgeous as the punishing schedule starts reeling in succession.

Miss Venezuela Vanessa Goncalves
Name any pageant and Venezuelans are almost always synonymous with one hell of a beauty delegate. The South American country is a constant in many ways. In style, aura, projection, physical attributes, and stand-out facial features, they always set the bar high and make the race for the crown more intense.
Miss Universe 2011 is no different. Miss Venezuela Vanessa Goncalves is out to prove that she is in a league all her own. And why not? Her presence alone electrifies and sends shivers to the spines of her competitors. Fearless is written all over.
But flip the coin and there is the side that shows her back being the target of other candidates. I’d be the last to wonder why because in a field of more than 80 wannabes, you will want to be on top of everything even before the finals night.
Let’s see how Vanessa handles the field as the pre-pageant hullabaloo progresses. 😉
I’m taking inspiration from – correct me if I’m wrong – the title of 1973 Miss Universe Margarita ‘Margie’ Moran-Floirendo’s one and only movie in Philippine showbiz “Oh! Margie! Oh!” The release of Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup’s official headshot, swimsuit and evening gown photos (as taken by Patrick Prather of the MUO) in the Miss Universe website is more than enough to send me to a frenzy.
I don’t know with you, my dear readers, but I’m quite pleased with the images above. The arched back drama of her evening gown, in particular, gives a very sexy result. And if I’m not mistaken, she will be wearing an altogether different creation for the preliminaries. But for now, I’m hoping these inspire you even more to vote for Shamcey.🙂
By the way, below is her web interview for Miss Universe 2011:

All work and no play can always dull anyone up. The same applies to the 2011 Miss Universe candidates who took some time off from their heectic schedule to dance the night away at The Society, one of Sao Paulo’s hottest night spots. They were accompanied by reigning Miss Universe Ximena Navarrete and 2010 Miss Brazil Debora Lyra. Check out the pictures below courtesy of fotoarena.com.br:

Monica Lewczuk of Poland wins Miss Supranational 2011
The crowned Monica
My hunch was proven right. The hometown girl won. But still a well-deserved victory at that. Monica Lewczuk, representing Poland, was crowned Miss Supranational 2011 in glittering rites held at the modern amphitheatre in the city of Plock. She bested 69 other contestants for the title. Following her are 1st Runner-Up Lyudmila Karamovich of Belarus, 2nd Runner-Up Valery Velez of Puerto Rico, 3rd Runner-Up Daniela Nguyenova of Vietnam and 4th Runner-Up Krystelle Khoury of the USA.
