Today, the Costa Rican minister of tourism, Gustavo Segura, confirmed for that Costa Rica is in talks with the Miss Universe Organization to hold the next edition of the pageant in Costa Rica!!
Yesterday, certain members of the MUO had their first meeting with a few key people from the Costa Rican private sector as well as the ICT (Costa Rican Tourism Institute). The minister said that the ICT appreciates how much the Miss Universe pageant has evolved into a pageant which celebrates women empowerment and leadership as well as spreads the correct values. He said that the values of the MUO align with those of ICT and that’s the main reason why they want to help in hosting. ✨
The next step is going to be a dialogue between Costa Rica and the MUO where they have to find a way to actually proceed with this plan, because at the moment, Costa Rica definitely does not have the funds to pay entirely for an event of such scale, so in the next few meetings the idea is to reach an agreement about that.
The minister said that IF THE AGREEMENT IS REACHED, the pageant will be held at THE END OF THIS YEAR IN COSTA RICA.
Additional news: Miss Universe Organization Vice president and a couple more people from the MUO are going to come to Costa Rica from February 3 to 6!!!
