The Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Runway Challenge

On a 200-meter placement of a runway that almost covers one complete side of Uptown Parade in BGC, the Phenomenal Women of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 took on the Runway Challenge that was a test of strength and endurance. With everyone wearing black cocktail dresses and regular heels, they still needed to walk in line from the Empire Studios location on the other end of the Uptown Mall all the way to the actual venue in front of Xylo. Everyone delivered as expected, although the standouts from where I stand are listed at the bottom of this entry.


As for the best performers in this challenge, I would shortlist Alaiza Malinao, Apriel Smith, Maria Isabela Galeria, Bella Ysmael, Sandra Lemonon and Paula Ortega.

The winner of the Runway Event will be announced during the Preliminaries scheduled for April.

Samantha Alexandra Panlilio: Don’t count this Binibini out

She may not be the tallest among the 40 Binibinis of Bb. Pilipinas 2020. But as they say, some big things come in smaller packages. And what she may lack in terms of a statuesque frame is more than made up by her impressive communication skills. Oh and yes, the Panlilio pedigree as well.

Coming up with this list of 20 is already tough as it is. I had to sacrifice a few of the Binibinis because I initially had 23 (with the inclusion of Vianca Marcelo, Kimberly Anne Tiquestiques and Lesley Anne Ticaro). With 40 contenders, cutting them in half at this point is more ideal. I am confident, though, that the five (5) new titleholders will be among the ladies named above.

I just find it amusing that even in the upload of official shots, the competition between the two national pageants appears to be raging hard. Kudos to the re-energized social media team of BPCI. They know how to play the online game well. Even the proper crediting is religiously fulfilled.
