I am presenting the Miss Philippines Earth 2011 Top 10 once again to get a better view and analysis of their face, stats and environmental platforms. Photos and details courtesy of the competition’s website.

Miss Mun. of Casiguran, Athena Mae Imperial
Age: 24 | Height: 5’6″ | Weight: 115 lbs. | Measurements: 34-24-35
I stand against global warming. In our little ways, we can show our fight against this pressing environmental issue. Among these significant small acts are unplugging appliances and switching off lights when they are not in use, not burning fuel, and avoiding excessive emission of carbon dioxide.
We are among the contributing factors of global warming but we can be a part of the solution to address this environmental problem.

Miss Cebu City, Murielle Adrienne Orais
Age: 19 | Height: 5’6″ | Weight: 110 lbs. | Measurements: 31-25-36
I am an Advocate for a low carbon lifestyle one way would be bicycle riding as means of transportation in reducing carbon emissions in the atmosphere that leads to a cleaner air.

Miss Cotabato City, Edan Dafilmoto
Age: 22 | Height: 5’6″ | Weight: TBP | Measurements: TBP
Empowering Filipinos in reducing carbon footprints through easy measures (example: eating more vegetables and less meat, using less energy, conserving water, keeping vehicles tuned-up, go for organic) as much as possible, each Filipino citizen should be able to grasp the essence of minimizing the greenhouse gases emission since this would be the ground for global warming which would initiate climate change. I believe that if we become aware of the consequences of every action we take concerning our environment, then there will be change within us and we will start to make some resolutions. We must also consider the fact that we are the ones responsible for triggering every environmental issue we face. Lastly, we should always remember that our future generations depend on us so that they may be able to live in a good environment, therefore we must not further harm what is left of our ecosystem.

Miss General Santos City, Catrine Rosary Ocampo
Age: 18 | Height: 5’7″ | Weight: 118 lbs | Measurements: 33-26-34
We should put a stop to all the harmful environmental activities especially illegal logging. I believe that we already have enough laws, policies and programs. It is about time that we implement them strictly.

Miss Las Pinas City, Michelle Gavagan
Age: 21 | Height: 5’8″ | Weight: 135 lbs | Measurements: 34-27-35
My OWN environmental advocacy is RE-forestation. This is the opposite of deforestation. For every tree that is chopped down, a new tree should be planted in its place. To also save our trees, we must reduce, reuse and recycle paper products. The less paper we use, the more trees and forests we can save.

Miss Makati City, Tarhata Clio Shari Rico
Age: 22 | Height: 5’6″ | Weight: 108 lbs. | Measurements: 34-25-34
My environmental advocacy is green building. By using environmentally responsible and resource-efficient materials in building establishments, we can minimize the use of energy sources and decrease environmental pollution.

Miss Malolos City, Mary Denisse Toribio
Age: 19 | Height: 5’9″ | Weight: 126 lbs | Measurements: 33-24-36
Incineration is not only harmful to our health but also to our environment. Let us join hands in saving mother earth, let’s say no to incineration and yes to ecological solid waste management.

Miss Pagadian City, Ma. Alicia Elena Ariosa
Age: 23 | Height: 5’5″ | Weight: 118 lbs | Measurements: 35-25-36
Our environment is the greatest gift that god had given us. The air that we breathe, the water that we drink, the food that we eat and the solid grounds that we stood upon are all integral part of our environment. I specifically want to focus on forest preservation by increasing people’s environmental awareness through education and actual implementation of solutions like tree planting.

Miss Puerto Princesa City, Jonavi Raisa Quiray
Age: 24 | Height: 5’7″ | Weight: 118 lbs. | Measurements: 34-24-36
I represent Puerto Princesa City dubbed as the “City in a Forest.” Our vision is to be a role model of sustainable development. It is our dream to harmoniously co-exist with the other members of our ecosystem and to preserve its natural state especially the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park. I am advocating the protection of the environment and rehabilitation of what has been destroyed by planting more trees for the benefit of our future generations.

Miss Fil USA-East Coast, Brenna Cassandra Gamboa
Age: 21 | Height: 5’9″ | Weight: 118 lbs | Measurements: 33-25-35
Everyone can help by self-education and by adopting healthy practices. It is also important that we raise awareness of the environmental problems that our world faces. Every action or inaction of any person in regard to her or his surroundings has an effect- be it good, neutral or bad- on the environment. By becoming aware and doing the right action, we choose to be part of the solution. We can lessen pollution by lessening cigarette smoking or just living a healthier life style, never use open fires to dispose of waste, avoid loud noises to prevent noise pollution, recycle, avoid littering, and much more. If we took the time to change our unhealthy habits we can maintain the beauty of the earth today as we’d want to see it in the future.
If I had to divide the ten ladies into two groups, my upper half would include the ladies from Cebu City, Fil USA East Coast, Puerto Princesa City, General Santos City and Cotabato City. But you really can’t tell because come finals night on June 5, one or two of the remaining contenders might just wow everyone with sensible answers in the interview portions and snatch an element, if not the title itself.
We’ll see what happens. š
