Two more familiar names and faces for Bb. Pilipinas 2020 – Patricia Denise Babista above and Justine Felizarta below.
Now recency-wise, you would remember Pat quickly because I blogged about her just earlier this month.
As for Justine, you should still recall as a former Binibini from the 2015 edition when she made Top 15, went to Canada to finish her studies and returned home for this.
They both filed today.
The Pride of Bulacan in Bb. Pilipinas 2020 is here and she is Kimberly Anne Tiquestiques from Balagtas. She is 21 years old with a height of 5’9”.
A product of Kagandahang Flores camp, she will represent my home province – although that wouldn’t be saying much from my personal end as I normally have a tendency not to put too much spotlight on a fellow Bulakenya unless I see her brimming with potentials in the long run.
Team Lemonades is back in 2020!
Sandra Lemonon filed her application for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 today.
The pageant plot thickens!
Ma Ahtisa Manalo’s appearance at the Empire Studios to file her application for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 today ends all speculations on whether she will join or not.
Does this change the dynamics of the game for you? With her entry, the competition just got more interesting to say the least.
Thanks to Jonas Gaffud and Pao Baysa for the shots here.
Now that the two popular runners-up from Bb. Pilipinas 2018 and 2019 are returning to Bb. Pilipinas 2020, has your perception of the potential titleholders for the year changed?
Vickie Marie Rushton (who filed yesterday) and Samantha Bernardo (who filed today) in the mix will definitely spoil and spice things up for everyone!
Exciting months ahead!
Finally, Alaiza Malinao made that decisive move to file her Miss Universe Philippines 2019 application at the Empire Studios in Uptown Bonifacio.
In my conversation with Alaiza, she stated that:
“So many things happened in the past month. And this is the beginning of a new journey for myself. I will fight with all my heart because I’ve been waiting for this. This is really the right time. Win or learn, laban!“
Now if you thought Julia Saubier would join Miss Universe Philippines or Bb. Pilipinas this year, think again.
Straight from the Kung-Fu Goddess herself:
“Last year before BBP, I was living in the mountains of rural China. Training in kung-fu for 8 hours a day, and remotely doing research and writing for my master’s thesis.
I joined BBP as an obscure, private person with no previous experience in modeling or pageantry (and a dislocated shoulder) ✌🏽
I ran on my fire 🔥🔥—an intense self-belief in the quality and integrity of my ideas and capacity to do good.
(And of course the love and support of my family, closest friends, and Saubier soldiers).
I went from this random candidate to dark horse to frontrunner. But the competition didn’t work out as I had hoped for or planned.
I’ve been reading the outpour of support—all your messages and comments telling me you believe in me and want me to join again.
They’re humbling and heartwarming, thank you.
I’ve decided that I will not be joining this year to instead pursue other creative and social impact work. And to continue to invest time in training and building skills which will allow me to continue to get opportunities in the kinds of film and creative projects I want to do.
I hope you can continue to support me in my chosen path. Let’s all support and be kind to all the women who are competing this year 🙏🏽 (no more fake troll accounts pls). It takes a lot of guts and energy to go through what is a really grueling and exacting 3-month journey.
Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat. Mahal ko kayong lahat!”
