Here are some photos from the simple, intimate and meaningful wedding of Miss World Philippines 2015 Hillarie Parungao to Arllie Donato.
FYI, the ceremony above happened October 6, 2019 instead of the originally-planned April 4, 2020 – just in case you might wonder how they were able to pull it through amidst the #COVID19 crisis and ECQ.
Hillarie is now in Melbourne, Australia on home quarantine. For those who might have already forgotten, she made it to the Top 10 of Miss World 2015 held in China.
It was quite by chance that I dropped by the Empire Studios last Friday and saw Christelle Abello filing her application for Miss Universe Philippines 2020. I almost didn’t recognize her at first. My recollection of her participation during Miss World Philippines 2015 was no longer as vivid, aside from the fact that she lost weight ever since.
This 25 year-old full-blooded Pinay graduated with a Communications degree from the California State University at San Marcos. Her parents hail from Kalibo, Aklan and Silang, Cavite, but she has been residing the longest in Makati City.
It’s so easy to warm up to Christelle (no wonder she was voted the friendliest during MWP2015). She has this social ease that makes her initiate engaging conversations and sustain anyone’s interest because she can be just as attentive as a listener. I can tell the sincerity in her ways, and that should work to her advantage once her personal cause/s and the advocacy-driven activities of the competition are set in motion.
By the way, she is the second entry of #TheCamp after Bella Ysmael.
Emma Mary Tiglao of Pampanga struggled to earn her stripes during the first three major national pageants – Mutya ng Pilipinas 2012, Bb. Pilipinas 2014 and Miss World Philippines 2015 – that she took part in. She was either a runner-up or finalist but never the crowned titleholder. She even took the risk of joining a lesser-known contest last year – Miss Midori Clark – where she placed 1st Runner-Up.
But not the type who would bow down to one defeat or two, she constantly stood up, reinvented her image and presented renewed versions of herself every single time. She has definitely paid her dues in national pageantry and it was only a matter of time before she would collect a handsome reward in the form of a Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental crown which she claimed last Sunday night.
Emma has grown in front of our pageant-loving eyes. And what she has shown all throughout the Bb. Pilipinas 2019 competition is that she can do all things with a lot of grace and patience. She never lost footing every step of the way. Maybe she wasn’t the choice of many for the highest title of Miss Universe Philippines, but definitely a deserving recipient of any of the five other crowns at stake.
This Kapampangan beauty will have the tough assignment of preparing for one of two back-to-back victory missions for the Philippines. But with Karen Gallman as the reigning Miss Intercontinental, she will receive all the precious advices and support in order to conquer the 48th Miss Intercontinental with the heart of a fighter.
A repeater and a crossover in one package, Emma Tiglao is
Many people are asking me if Emma Mary Tiglao is returning to the Bb. Pilipinas stage this year. My answer would be this – very likely. You see, there is still a bit of deciding to do because I was told that she is still negotiating to take a leave from work so that focusing on the nationals would be stress-free. Once that is over and done with, then get ready for her exciting return to Araneta Coliseum. She is now classified as both a repeater and crossover – having joined Miss World Philippines 2015 and finishing 4th Princess to Hillarie Parungao.
I have always liked the vibe that Emma gives whenever she struts her stuff onstage. She has this vibrant and seductive appeal that has been honed through years of pageant participation. If we finally see her vying for one of the crowns, I bet she will up the ante even more.
Mia (leftmost) with Vianca Marcelo and your blogger during MWP2015
And the fencer is back! Mia Alysson Hernandez Howell will show that she has the guts and confidence more than any sable, foil or epee events sha may have mastered in the past. And this articulate beauty will turn the heat more than ever with her excellent communication skills and expressive self once the pressure to do Q&A becomes a battle of wits and reasoning.
Mia joined Bb. Pilipinas 2015 and signed up for Miss World Philippines 2015 afterwards. She has the 2nd Princess crown to be proud of. But more than a princess she dreams of herself to be. A Queen’s title is what she is aiming for. And once she sets her eyes on the prize, there’s no stopping this KF bet in making her second appearance on the Bb. Pilipinas stage more fulfilling.
In the meantime, here is Mia’s fun video from Bb. Pilipinas 2015.
From Bulacan, Vianca Louise Marcelo will go for Bb. Pilipinas 2017
Vianca (rightmost) with Mia Howell and your blogger during MWP2015
Vianca Louise Marcelo is a winsome Bulakenya who is a relatively familiar pageant face by way of her participation in both Miss World Philippines 2015 and Reyna ng Aliwan 2015 (where she was the Singkaban Festival Queen). She has been steadily plotting her game plan for the nationals with Kagandahang Flores. And by now, she is more than ready to plunge into the biggest challenge of her career in beauty contests.
Vianca is always brimming with confidence. She knows what it takes to impress people around her and would not show any sign of reluctance should screenings require passing through the dreaded Q&A right away.
Miss World Philippines 2015 Hillarie Parungao with boyfriend Bill Castañeda
During the Miss World Philippines send-off for Catriona Gray the other afternoon, her predecessor came in full support and to extend her warm wishes for our US-bound Queen.
Miss World Philippines 2015 and Miss World 2015 Top 10 Hillarie Danielle Parungao came dressed in an eye-catching white number that complemented the outfit of her companion who happens to be boyfriend Bill Castañeda.
Bill & Hillarie. It became a delightful piece of small talk about how I would call them in jest as the “Asian Clintons”. But kidding aside, their relationship is still relatively new and we can only wish their togetherness to grow stronger in the months to come.
Truly, Hillarie’s glow is unmistakeable. Don’t you agree, dear readers? 😉
Miss World Philippines 2015 Hillarie Parungao as made up by Carissa Cielo Medved for Bragais Brides
Miss World Philippines 2015 Hillarie Parungao still has at least three (3) full months remaining in her reign. It could go over if the national finals of Miss World Philippines 2016 will be scheduled come October. Regardless, she is still enjoying the best of both modelling and fulfilling her responsibilities as a reigning titleholder. She was recently chosen as one of the faces of Bragais Brides. And public appearances (like the Lumina Event Launch late last month) and TVCs still keep her busy. Of course, the anticipation as to who will succeed her and become our Miss World 2016 rep hangs over her daily routine. That’s the cycle of pageantry at work.
But let’s allow Hillarie to be the happiest that she can be till she passes the crown to the next. I know that her love life is also doing fine. So from late September till mid-October, that will be the time to rechannel our focus on the 2016 batch. 🙂
And you thought Miss World Philippines 2015 Hillarie Parungao is avoiding the limelight nowadays? Not on TV, I should say. In fact, her latest TV commercial for Nestlé Yogurt started airing recently. And she is in the lead alongside character actress Cai Cortez.
TVCs and Print Ads are really the best media exposures of Hillarie even before becoming our Miss World 2015 representative. She has done a lot to say the least. Her lovely face is simply emchanting on the small screen.
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
