Her name is Natasha Skye Russell. Call her Skye for short.
Skye is a student of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management (HRIM)at the DLSU-College of Saint Benilde. She gets modeling assignments from time to time, and has been identified with Jonas Gaffud’s Mercator group of late. While this beautiful 5’7″ mix of British and Filipina parents has not gone far enough to cross the pageant line by way of training for the annual Bb. Pilipinas, I can see her as a possible contender if she so desires.
Modeling for Raoul Ramirez during the Philippine Fashion Week
She would have been one of Aces & Queens’s bets for Bb. Pilipinas Gold. But Kylie Verzosa decided that she can wait for another year or two. After all, she still needed to finish all her academic requirements at Ateneo de Manila University before signing up with Mercator Artist & Model Management as one of its fresh new talents in the modeling circuit.
At the moment, this young lady is already free to choose what next career path to take. Will she finally commit to join Bb. Pilipinas 2014? If so, then she should already be starting with her training for the pageant. And you know that the A&Q boot camp is no joke. Let’s see what buzz we can get from this beauty. 😉
No, Liza is not training under Jonas Gaffud. Yet. Hopefully sooner if not later.
Liza Soberano is now in showbiz. She is part of ABS-CBN’s Star Circle for 2013. Just look at her face and aura. She is screaming Miss Universe Philippines! Still young and not even 18, this girl is totally worth waiting for.
Now if we can only dig deep into our patience and give her at least three more years, then we might see someone who has already saturated her interest in TV and movies, and ready to plunge into pageantry. That is, if she does not achieve popularity that would make the prospects of becoming a beauty queen less and less of an option.
Besides, she is still expected to get an additional inch or two in height given her age. Presently around 5’6″-5’7″, she will surely grow more statuesque. 😉
Sans crown and sash, Miss World 2013 Megan Young took to the town of Tanauan, Leyte dressed in jeans and a white round-neck t-shirt bearing the seal of the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC). And she was at her most accessible mode while handing out relief goods to the families affected by ST Yolanda. With PNRC Head Dick Gordon and MWP Directress Cory Quirino, she fulfilled her promise of reaching out to the people and doing the best that she could to ease the sufferings of her fellowmen.
Keep up the charity work, Megan. Lord knows how the people are in dire need of help and a source of inspiration to move on.

Alyz Heinrich of Venezuela, Rojisha Shahi Thakuri of Nepal and Angelee delos Reyes of the Philippines topped the Evening Gown Preliminaries of Miss Earth 2013. But that doesn’t mean that they are the only standouts in last night’s event. I also enjoyed the presentations of Nigeria, Serbia, India, Thailand, Romania and Mexico plus a few others.
Now this pre-pageant activity will definitely have an impact on who the Top 16 will be come December 7. Have you come up with your list of favorites? 🙂
The medalists (L-R): Philippines, Bronze; Venezuela, Gold and Nepal, Silver.
The wait is over. SM City BF Paranaque is now open.
It was only a matter of time before the biggest chain of supermalls in the country invades the biggest residential subdivision in Asia. And the wait was all worth it.
Yesterday afternoon, your blogger (who lives just less than a 5-minute drive away) was invited to cover the blessing and ribbon-cutting of the newest and most exciting shopping mall south of Metro Manila – SM City BF Paranaque.
Located at the strategic corner of Dr. A. Santos Avenue (Sucat Road) and Presidents Avenue, it will definitely complement the large market of shoppers in the populated villages surrounding the same, including the ones from nearby Taguig and Las Pinas Cities.

I have followed the rapid growth of SM Supermalls in the Philippines, and this is the first one built and named after a specific residential area. The convenience it will bring should add more value to the over-all next-door shopping pleasure.
All the shopping you need is right here.
With four huge floors being occupied by a spacious SM Store, a stock-filled SM Supermarket, a techie-tempting Cyberzone, an assortment of shops carrying established retail brands (like Uniqlo, Bench, Nautica and Camaïeu), an inspiring Our Home furnishings outlet, Watson’s, Ace Hardware, branches of popular restaurants and cafes’, an abundant food court and a spanking new 6-screen cineplex (on the 4th level), there’s really no reason to go anywhere else.
SM Endorser Kris Aquino shopping to her heart's delight.
And if that’s not enough, a planned expansion building will rise beside the structure in just a little over a year from now.

Luzelle’s selfie while working as a StarWorld Ambassador at StarWorld Macau.
When Luzelle Fernando Felipe joined Bb. Pilipinas 2011, everyone got so excited with this beautiful Bulakenya who was tagged as the ‘tricycle girl who wanted to become a beauty queen’. People couldn’t get enough of her potentials such that she is being eyed as a strong possibility for Bb. Pilipinas 2014 – three years after her first attempt.
Of course, the girl needs to earn a living. So when the opportunity to work as a StarWorld Ambassador (just like Shan Apuad) for StarWorld Macau came, she didn’t think twice about accepting the same. So the bigger question is whether she is willing to give it up for the second chance to become a Binibini. A good source of income can never be taken for granted nowadays.
If you ask me, the girl is ready for another try. But if she prefers to linger a little longer in Macau, there is still Bb. Pilipinas 2015 to look forward to.
Yesterday, the twin send-offs for Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia-Pacific 2013 Koreen Medina and Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International 2013 Angeli Dione Gomez took place at Midas Hotel Manila. Since both of their pageant assignments will culminate next month, the organizers thought it best to host the event at the same time.
While Angeli will still have to wait just a wee bit longer before leaving for Kuala Lumpur for the international finals scheduled on December 31, Koreen should be flying to Europe very soon as Miss Intercontinental 2013 will be crowned in Magdeburg, Germany on December 14.
With the reigning Miss Tourism International being our own Rizzini Alexis Gomez, our bet will face a tougher mission to aim for a back-to-back victory. I trust the beautiful Angeli to do well, regardless. On the other hand, we haven’t nailed a single Miss Intercontinental title yet, so Koreen should be more inspired to work hard for the first.
Best of luck to both ladies in their international outings! 🙂

MW2013 Megan Young arrives in Manila (right photo credited to Aubrey Carampel)
Miss World 2013 Megan Young arrived in Manila to put into action the results of her fund-raising efforts in London, New Jersey, New York, Hong Kong and Jakarta. Reports estimate that she was able to gather around USD1.2 million in donations – an impressive amount I should say.
According to fellow pageant blogger Joyce Ann Burton-Titular, our Queen (together with Ms. Cory Quirino) will be heading to Cebu, from where she will take a quick flight to Tacloban to finally hand over the relief goods to the affected victims of ST Yolanda. The help will also reach the surrounding provinces, specifically Leyte and Samar.
Bless your heart, Megan! You are really on your way to becoming the best Miss World ever. 🙂
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
