Here now is the resumption of our #BinibiniWishList2019 series with a beauty from Northern Samar named Julie Ann Tarrayo.
Confidence becomes Julie Ann, the reigning Miss Pintados. She got an even stronger boost when now Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray picked her hometown region in the Visayas to be part of the now iconic “Celebrate” National Costume for the competition.
“I believe that I have proven my region that I have the potential to shine on the bigger stage of pageantry. My team and I have been wanting to penetrate the nationals and I think now is the best time to do so. I am gathering all my bullets so when the competition comes I would be ready to drop bombs. I am a firm believer that what we think about we bring about. We must be positive and definite on what we set our mind into for us to get definite results. I definitely want to be a binibini this year and hopefully my stars will align with my visions.”
Will this 23 year-old graduate of BS Tourism Management at Northwest Samar State University – who stands 5’9” – be able to bring her dream into a reality?
Watch out for her!

Miss Peru Giuliana Valenzuela was named winner of the Best in National Costume Award during the special competition of the 47th Miss Intercontinental held at the Crystal Corridor of Okada Manila.
She was awarded by reigning titleholder Veronica Salas Vallejo and 2010 winner Mayde Columna.
As for our country’s rep, Miss Philippines Karen Gallman wore a “Moriones Festival”-inspired creation by Patrick Isorena.
Description of the costume as
This costume is inspired by the Moryonan also known as the ‘MORIONES FESTIVAL’.
It is a colorful festival celebrated in the island of Marinduque during Holy Week.
The “Moriones” are men and women in costumes and masks replicating the garb of biblical Roman soldiers as interpreted by local folks
This festival also inspired the creation of other festivals in the Philippines where cultural practices or folk history are turned into street festivals.
The Mythical bird ‘SARIMANOK’ was also added to the whole ensemble making it more dramatic.

The candidates of the 47th Miss Intercontinental Pageant spent the entire weekend at Playa Calatagan in Batangas where everyone had their first taste of the famous beaches our country is known for. And during the swimwear segment where one winner will be chosen as Miss Playa Calatagan, Miss Paraguay Gabriela Soley was the choice of the judges. That effectively makes her one of the running favorites for the crown along with Miss Philippines Karen Gallman who was picked as Media Favorite during the Press Presentation.
Here now are the 10 Favorites from where I stand:

During last week’s finals of Miss Kuyamis 2019 at the Tagoloan Dome in Misamis Oriental, a 19 year-old beauty from the Municipality of Medina outclassed nineteen (19) other contenders to be the best in the annual pageant that celebrates the beauty, tourism and culture of the Northern Mindanao province. Her name is Chella Grace Falconer.

Chella is no pageant newbie. In fact, she already took part in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2017 where she placed in the Top 10. She was only 17 back then. This time around, she returned with an entirely polished version of herself to be the unanimous choice of the judges to win the Miss Kuyamis title and become the representative of Misamis Oriental in the national competition of either Miss Millennial Philippines 2019 or Miss Earth Philippines 2019.
I love it that provincial pageants have already managed to keep pace with the production of their national counterparts. And with the leadership of Governor Bambi Emano and Provincial Tourism Officer Atty Jeffrey Saclot, the finals was a big success. It was mounted seamlessly under the direction of Dennis Almazan, with Celebrity Designer Bea Bianca providing the swimwear and evening gowns of the ladies. A tribute was also given to two of their successful homegrown achievers – Miss Earth Philippines Water 2018 Berjayneth Chee and Miss Millennial Philippines 2018 1st Runner-Up Danna Rose Socaoco.
Watch out for more of Chella this year as she prepares herself for the even bigger challenge of winning in the national level and bringing more pride to the entire MisOr.
