Album cover of Nina's latest album
I consider myself an admirer of soul/R&B singer Nina (Girado). I have followed the soul siren’s career ever since she released her first cd album, “Heaven”, back in 2002. Her first outing may not have been the most successful, but it did give birth to the song “Jealous” which is considered her first chart-topping tune. The following year, she had her sophomore cd titled “Smile” which gave her two more hit songs (“Smile” and “Make You Mine”) afterwhich she came up with her first all-adaptation output in “Nina Sings Dianne Warren.” In 2005, the acoustic album “Nina Live!” became her most successful body of work, which led to her 2006 album simply called “Nina.”
Her latest is a 17-track album that features her cool covers of songs like “She’s Out of My Life,” “Cold Summer Nights,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?,” “Go the Distance” and 13 other hits.
“I can say that the songs I sing in my albums very much represent who I am… Because when I sing songs, I try to make it my own even if it was done originally by another artist,” said Nina.
So if you’re up for some ear-friendly soul music, do check out this one. It’s already out in your favorite record bars.
