Arnold, Jonas and Nad: the three original pillars of Aces & Queens
I am posting in full the farewell message of Jonas Gaffud to Aces & Queens.
Eighteen Years with Aces and Queens
When my friends and I founded Aces and Queens, our intention is to prepare young women to be queens for national and international pageants. Our group got bigger, as the number of girls we train or who asked to be trained by us, also grew. And we have trained them with passion, love and dedication without asking anything in return. Though we have permanent jobs, our only reward was to see them grow as persons, and bring honor to our country. We never knew it would be this big.
As much as I would love to continue training girls as head of Aces and Queens, I believe it is time for me to leave the group to pursue other endeavors. As such, I will focus on developing and sustaining advocacies which are close to our hearts: education of children, and raising funds for their causes, LGBTQIA rights & awareness, tourism for the Philippines and women empowerment.
I thank Aces and Queens, all the girls we have trained since 2001, everyone who has trusted me and above all, Filipino pageant lovers and supporters, without which we would not have achieved our successes in international pageantry.
Huge thanks to all camps, mentors, teams, groups, glam teams, designers for making the beauty pageant industry alive. I salute how the camps brought out the best in the Filipina. No one can take that away from them – their hardwork and dedication.
And many thanks to local and international organizations specially BbPilipinas Charities Inc and the Miss Universe Organization.
Let’s support our queens. We are Team Philippines after all.
Mabuhay at maraming salamat. ♥️
The entire Aces & Queens family
A warm and sunny Sunday morning to all!

Yesterday afternoon at the Atrium of Uptown Mall in BGC, the Press Presentation of GLAM (Global Asian Model) Philippines was held with the head of Empireph – Jonas Gaffud – presiding over the event.
This competition is structured more like a model search where hints of pageantry can hardly be seen. And it was quite clear that the contenders are styled for the runway and the like. The male and female candidates were introduced from where our representatives to Manhunt International 2018 in Gold Coast Australia, GLAM (Global Asian Model) International here in Manila and Best Model of the World in Turkey will be selected.
Here are photos by Joy Arguil from the presentation, including some of the candidates (10 male and 17 female).
Finals will be happening on November 5 at XyLo in BGC. But for now, do watch Episode 1 below of the casting and selection for GLAM Philippines.
Empire.ph & Mercator Models – through its Head, Jonas Gaffud – unveil a new modeling competition for Males and Females.

There will be five (5) winners who will all participate in international competitions. Three males: one each for Manhunt Philippines, GLAM Philippines Men, and Best Model of the World – Men; and two females : GLAM Philippines – Female and Best Model of the World – Female.
Do check out the posters below for qualifications and other requirements.
Finals Night will be on October 27.
The GLAM International Finals is an international competition conceptualized to celebrate the Asian heritage, where any model with Asian blood can represent a country and compete to be the next Asian superstar. Don’t expect her to make a grand entrance like how Catriona Gray breezed through the crowds waiting outside the BPCI Office at Araneta Coliseum. Instead, just wait for her to quietly storm the screenings of Bb. Pilipinas 2018 and stamp her class amongst the remaining aspirants (as of now, only eighty ladies are left standing) for the forty (40) Binibini slots this coming Monday, January 15.
Jonas Gaffud of Aces & Queens has confirmed that Aya Abesamis – daughter of Bb. Pilipinas Universe 1984 and Miss Universe 1984 3rd Runner-Up Desiree Verdadero – has finally landed. Her application has already been submitted prior, and the interview with the BPCI legal team has already been conducted. All that is left to do is show up at the Kia Theater for the no-holds barred final selection.
Are you ready for Aya?
