At today’s exchange rate, 1 Thai Baht = 1.60 Philippine Peso, so the cheapest would be a little over PHP4,000.00 and the priciest at over PHP80,000.00.
Wow! How I wish the figures hue close to the Las Vegas price points whenever the finals would be held there.
Here are three (3) additional details just to build up the excitement a little more…
1) There will be a record-breaking number of ninety-five (95) delegates who will vie for this year’s crown.
2) Sirivannavari Bangkok will provide the swimwear to be worn by the ladies.
3) Miss Universe 1988 Porntip Bui Simon Nakhirunkanok will be one of the judges this year. (Source: 2018 Miss Universe)
One of the more exciting highlights of any Miss Universe edition is the National Costume Competition that the candidates will be participating in – especially those from our neighboring ASEAN nations.
Below are four of them:
1) “Banh Mi” – Vietnam
2) “Chang the Icon of Siam” – Thailand
3) “Kingdom of Wonder” – Cambodia
4) “From Animation to Butterflies” – Indonesia
Looking forward to what Miss Myanmar and our very own Miss Universe Philippines Catriona Gray will wear!
At the Monet Ballroom of Novotel Manila Araneta Center, Miss Universe Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray and Miss Supranational Philippines 2018 Jehza Huelar took the spotlight this afternoon when they were given their proper send-off to Miss Universe 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand and Miss Supranational 2018 in Karpacz/Krynica-Zdrój, Poland.
Both ladies were given the usual messages of encouragement from their Bb. Pilipinas sisters. Present this time are Miss Intercontinental Philippines Karen Gallman, The Miss Globe Philippines Michele Gumabao and 2nd Runner-Up Samantha Mae Bernardo. BPCI Chair Madame Stella Marquez de Araneta was also around to give her personal message to the two Queens.
As expected, Catriona was at her most eloquent during the open mic forum with the media as she answered every single question like a pro. Jehza, on the other hand, was visibly filled with excitement as she has been looking forward to this day for the longest.
Jehza will be leaving for Poland on the last week of this month, while Cat will be flying to Bangkok on the 2nd of December.
From all of us here at normannorman.com, we wish you the best in your respective missions. We know that you will both do well, Cat and Jehza!
