#TurningPhenomenal Series No. 8
Let’s go to Mindanao – Misamis Oriental to be exact – this time around.
Inspired by the Top 15 placement of Caroline Joy Veronilla during the inaugural edition of Miss Universe Philippines, the province is placing its bets this time around in another beautiful Misamisnon from the Municipality of Medina.
Chella Grace Falconer is a former Miss Kuyamis titleholder who has earned precious experiences in national pageantry via Mutya ng Pilipinas, Miss Millennial Philippines and the recently-concluded Miss Bikini Philippines where she placed 1st Runner-Up. Collectively, these stints strengthened her resolve to go for – what is considered – the most prestigious beauty competition in the country.
Show of hands. Who is ready to become a #PhenomenalWoman?
Fil-American Chella raises hers without reluctance.

Pleased to share with you Episode 2 of Pageantry Norms Season 5 with my guests – Miss World Philippines 2021 Official Candidates – Ambriel Pascual, Megan Deen Campbell, Anne Caress De Mesa, Angelica Famorcan and Esel Ponce.
Really had fun with them, especially Ambriel and Angelica.

Back in 2020, the City of Love sent Rabiya Mateo of Filipino-Indian mix in Miss Universe Philippines who went on to win the national title and represented our country in the 69th Miss Universe earlier this month in Hollywood, Florida.
Will the city score another big win in 2021?
You see, a 21 year-old Ilongga of Half Filipino-Half Malaysian-Indian heritage is being prepared to represent #IloiloCity in the nationals. And Khesha Ramachandran is ready to step up to the plate. She is next in line after placing 1st Runner-Up during Miss Iloilo 2020 (the pandemic has prevented the organizers from holding a 2021 Finals).
Khesha has already won a Mutya ng Pilipinas crown back in 2018, but was unable to represent the Philippines internationally after her overseas pageant assignment failed to stage one then.
Will this year prove to be her rightful reward?

What an excellent news to wake up to this Sunday morning. I have recovered my original account on Instagram.
While I may have created @titonormant during the period that it got hacked, the new username @titonormantinio is still an easy recall for my friends and followers.

“Pwede yang mapili bilang Reyna da ring kapampangan keng Miss Universe Philippines?
Malagu ca, Angela Maria Robson!”
There are two areas in Pampanga that send one representative each to MUP – Pampanga Province itself and Angeles City. Will one of those two spots be earmarked for this beautiful Kapampangan who has gotten more polished in front of my pageant eyes? I have a feeling the answer is yes.
Angela is ready to immerse herself into the world of #phenomenalwomen this 2021. She has blossomed. And I bet she can take on the challenges with more confidence.
#HarbingerOfHope #RoleModel #RallyingPoint – bring it on!

#TurningPhenomenal Series No. 5
You know a beautiful face when you see one. And this Cebuana’s loveliness needs no explanation. The camera loves her, just as people around fall for her undeniable presence instantly. The familiar look needs to go beyond the shores of Cebu and sail to the nationals.
Steffi Pearson Aberasturi reigned as Binibining CEBU 2018. To be honest, it was only a matter of sweet time then before leveling up to a bigger competition. But then, the pandemic happened and all bets are off. Previous plans jumped back to square one.
In 2021, will #MandaueCity field Steffi in Miss Universe Philippines? I don’t see why not. She is as #phenomenal as it gets. All the years of regional/provincial pageant exposures have prepared her for this, imho.
I clasp my hands and hope to see her making the beeline for the big league. The time is now.

The exclusive video clips below were recorded by your blogger during yesterday’s Orientation and Official Numbering of the 45 candidates at Red Hotel Philippines. There were only two of us from pageant media and one pageant photographer invited to the closed door activity.
These are just sound bites about their advocacies or reasons for joining the national pageant.

#TurningPhenomenal Series No. 3
To be or not to be a #PhenomenalWoman again, that is the question…
In a play of words from a famous line in Shakespeare’s Hamlet, the next lady in our series has that thought playing in her mind – be it of her own volition or the encouragement of others.
Bella Ysmael is #AmbassadorForArtsAndCulture and last year’s Miss Universe Philippines 1st Runner-Up. If only the tides are not turning in favor of holding a 2021 edition, then she could ascend the throne by virtue of her (somewhat) ‘Virreina’ placement. That would have been the most convenient route to the ‘Filipina’ crown if the next Miss Universe is scheduled too soon this year.
Otherwise, it’s all about going through the motions for a second time, but with an entirely new dedication in place. And that could be tougher. For a strong-willed individual, though, that is called a challenge.
And Bella can do insane numbers of pirouettes or fouettes if that is what it takes to savor a #1 finish.
During the orientation of the Miss World Philippines 2021 Official Candidates, the numbering was also held with the forty-five ladies getting their competition spots in the lineup.
