Miss Philippines Ma Ahtisa Manalo enjoyed her visit to 東京ワンピースタワー / Tokyo Onepiece Tower for Miss International 2018 where her childhood anime memories were brought to life-sized likeness.
Two (2) national pageant crossovers topped the recently-concluded Jewel of the Philippines 2018 Finals. Divine Angela Veranga is an alumna of Miss Philippines Earth 2018 and Jerelleen Rodriguez is a product of Bb. Pilipinas 2018. Both of them took part in Miss World Philippines 2018 just earlier this month.
Congratulations are now in order for the winners of Jewel of the Philippines 2018:

In this news report by Asaree Thaitrakulpanich for Khaosod English last October 24, 2018, the hosting of Miss Universe 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand was in peril of not pushing through as the original financier – TW Investment – pulled out due to “misbehaviours” of some its shareholders. Read the entire report below:
BANGKOK — The fate of this year’s Miss Universe pageant, set for December in Bangkok, was briefly in doubt after its domestic financier was forced to pull out.
The US-based Miss Universe Organization revoked the rights granted to TW Investment, the Thai company in charge of making the pageant happen, due to shady practices the company has blamed on unethical shareholders. A replacement firm has since been found.
In a statement, TW Investment said it would no longer be involved due to misbehavior by unnamed company shareholders.
“We can’t say whether or not the pageant will be held here,” a company spokesman who answered the phone of President Thanawat Wansom said Wednesday. “But TW will not be the organizer.”
Questions about the pageant’s return to the kingdom after a 13-year absence were soon put to rest when another firm, TPN Group, was granted the rights to the pageant.
“We will organize the pageant, and we are the new sole holder of the license,” spokeswoman Nusra Poteteeralert said by phone. “The pageant will still be held. Nothing changes.”
In its letter, TW Investment suggested financial malfeasance and “unsavory behavior of some investors” was to blame for losing the potentially lucrative license.
“Some also did not forward the money from sponsors to pay for the distribution rights according to the regulations stipulated by the Miss Universe company,” it said.
The letter also accused the same insider as trying to hijack the job by making “secret negotiations” with Miss Universe to obtain sole distribution rights and take it away from TW.
Thailand has previously hosted Miss Universe in 1992 and 2005.
Earlier, a Press Conference was held in Bangkok with Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart in attendance plus representatives of the new financier – TPN Group – which was granted the rights to the pageant.

So did you catch the Season Premiere of “The People’s Queen” on the TFC Channel (if you’re overseas) or either the Lifetime or MYX TV Channels (on Skycable)? It’s a very entertaining reality series following two (2) pageant experts (Cece Asuncion and Voltaire Tayag) – who also happen to be my friends – take in five beautiful ladies into one big house for a series of trainings and personality improvements (including a generous dash of confessions from each one of them).
I’m pretty sure you are familiar with most of the five recruits: newly-crowned Miss World Philippines 2018 Katarina Rodriguez, newly-appointed Miss Supranational USA 2018 Katrina Dimaranan, former Mutya ng Pilipinas Overseas Communities titleholder Michelle Thorlund, Blasian beauty Nikita McElroy and Jenny Levy.
Watch videos of the show’s teaser below, plus the TFC interview with Cece Asuncion and Katrina Dimaranan.
If you missed watching the first episode last October 24, it will run from the start once more this coming November on the Metro Channel.
Miss Filipinas Alyssa Muhlach Alvarez brings to life the national costume that Designer Maestro John created for her in Reina Hispanoamericana 2018. It may not be as big and uber-festival-like as the ones worn by the Latinas, but she definitely presented it well.
In the meantime, below are her photos from the courtesy lunch/visit that the candidates made to the Mayor of the City of Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
It was one of those pageant judging stints out of town that I enjoyed from start to finish, especially from an organization which made its initial foray into mounting a national beauty competition with an important cause.
Christine Juliane Opiaza (a former Slimmers World Miss Bikini Philippines titleholder) of Olongapo City was crowned as the #firstever Miss Econest 2018 last night at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center. It was the culmination of an almost whirlwind search for the young woman who will be the face and the voice to exemplify the #BeautyForSustainability thrust of the organizers. But more than being the new beacon of light for solid waste management and environmental causes, she will work hand-in-hand in reaching out to more people and making her reign more meaningful in the next twelve (12) months to come.
I doff my hat to Atty Beulah Coeli Catingub Fiel, Atty Shereen Olivia Sian, Direk Concon Siñel and the entire team for successfully crossing over the finish line and achieving what seemed to be just a big dream at the onset.
Kudos as well to Nicole Miñano and Leandrea Batingan for making it far in the competition.
After touring Saitama City and other nearby Japanese cities (top photos and left), Miss Philippines Ma Ahtisa Manalo was picked as one of 47 (out of 77) delegates of the #58thMissInternational brought by Tobu Railway for a tour of Nikko (all the images below). They went to Tochigi City and visited Nikko Edo Wonderland and Tobu World Square.

Ahtisa even got to enjoy watching (the prep) and tasting one of her favorite Japanese quick bites – Yakitori.
What’s your take on her wardrobe so far, dear readers?
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
