It’s been a super loooooooooong day at the Bb. Pilipinas 2017 Screening. And the Official Candidates have not been announced yet.
It all started with ninety-six (96) screening applicants. From there, the task of judging each lady was slow at the onset but got into the groove of things towards the last two batches.
Initial deliberations followed.
And dinner time came as everyone was just starving. The instructions were clear. The 96 will be trinmed down to fifty-five (55) aspirants who will undergo Q&A with the judges.
After dinner, the judges returned with the already eliminated ones packing their bags to head home.
Q&A with the 55 remaining ladies followed – another excruciatingly long wait.
From that point, all versions flew in the air. Will an announcement be made afterwards? Will they postpone till later today? Will they reward everyone who patiently waited?
No dice. It will be this afternoon when we shall find out the Official Candidates.
Here are the 55 who made the first cut:

And so, we now go to the third of three blog features on my classification of the Kagandahang Flores ladies for Bb. Pilipinas 2017 – the First-Timers.
These are the potential aspirants who will embark on the journey to becoming a Binibini – either for the very first-time or a return to the screening for a hoped-for first acceptance as an Official Candidate.
There are fourteen (14) in this last batch – Angelika dela Cruz, Gianna Elaiza Colcol, Maria Benjielyn Nama, Thoreen Halversen, Karen Borbon, Christina Marie Coloma, Jeanena Mae Rafer, Henna Santos, Pamela Grace Janson, Christa Borja, Marie Sherry Ann Tormes, Jamaica Ambal, Caitlyn Chao and Daisha Jimenez.
Here they are:

If you will notice, there are only thirteen (13) photos above. The fourteenth is Caitlyn Chao who was unable to attend the Presentation Show yesterday.
Who are the ones you’re liking above, dear readers? 🙂

The girls are both nervous and excited. All they want is to make it as Binibinis for 2017. And by the time the announcement of Official Candidates has been made, it is the hope of everyone involved that a great majority – if not 100% – will be called to fill up the available slots.
Good luck to everyone! 🙂
Below is a quick video taken during the Presentation Show held weeks back. It took me this long to finally upload the same. The shaky recording is intentional, by the way. 😉
Continuing with our blogs on the classification of the Kagandahang Flores beauties for Bb. Pilipinas 2017, let us move on to the next group – the Crossovers.
We have nine (9).
These are the ladies who have already joined other national beauty contests and decided to try their luck with Bb. Pilipinas to become first-time Binibinis.
From Miss World Philippines: Rachel Peters, Zarah Bianca Saldua, Nelda Ibe and Ruffa Nava. From Miss Philippines Earth: Stephany Stefanowitz and Krystel Guelos. From Mutya ng Pilipinas: Larah Grace Lacap. Miss Global Philippines: Sammie Anne Legaspi. And from Miss Republic of the Philippines: Beatrice Valente.
Who are your bets among them, dear readers? 🙂

Rachel Peters

Beatrice Valente

Larah Grace Lacap

Zarah Bianca Saldua

Stephany Stefanowitz

Krystel Guelos

Ruffa Nava, Nelda Ibe and Sammie Anne Legaspi are part of this group even if they failed to make it yesterday afternoon.
Here are the Kagandahang Flores (KF) beauties for Bb. Pilipinas 2017 as grouped according to my personal classifications of each one of them.
Let us start with Group #1.
These are the repeaters, or the ladies who have already joined and became Binibinis in previous editions and are in their second of third attempts.
There are seven (7) of them: Mia Howell, Liezel Ramos, Sarah Bona, Angelique de Leon (crossover from RL’s Angels), Elizabeth Clenci, Sarah Jireh Asido (crossover from JDV) and Henna Kaizzelle Nicole “KZ” Cajandig (crossover from Galatea of Jonti Martinez).
Who do you think has the best chance of winning among them, dear readers?

Liezel Ramos

Sarah Bona

Angelique de Leon

Elizabeth Clenci

Sarah Jireh Asido (she had a sprained ankle – reason for wearing flats)

KZ Cajandig

Anyways, the roster of KF 2017 for the nationals is a mix of fresh faces, repeaters, crossovers, camp crossovers and one national beauty titlist who already competed in a major international beauty competition. They are:
But for now, top of my head standouts so far are definitely Rachel Peters, Daisha Jimenez, Stephany Stefanowitz, Liezel Ramos, Christa Borja, Angelique de Leon and Mia Howell.1) Angelika dela Cruz

I will present to you the girls in three batches in my next few blogs so that you will appreciate them better.
Just when you thought that memories of Bb. Pilipinas 2013 will keep coming back regarding the performance of Charmaine Elima, think again. During the Aces & Queen Presentation of the Class of 2017 for Bb. Pilipinas, she was a clear standout in all aspects. There are good reasons why she was voted Miss Personality during the said mock pageant. And how!
The positive changes are very distinct.
Charmaine has vastly improved in her English communication skills, and can actually speak the language quite fluently while projecting a modern version of herself – confident and charming as well as effective in connecting with the audience. I must admit to being pleasantly surprised with her transformation. The years of work with Philippine Airlines really upped her ability to relate to different types of people. And you can see in her moves that there are no more traces of the tentative Maine during her first attempt in the nationals.
The heat is really on for the forty (40) Official Candidates slots for 2017! 🙂
Thirty (30).
That is the confirmed number of beautiful delegates beauty camp Kagandahang Flores (KF) will field in for the Bb. Pilipinas 2017 screenings tomorrow, February 27. Their entries have already been received by now.
And the video below is the initial teaser they released of some of those who signed up their application form for the nationals.

But before the face-offs happen, KF will hold its mock pageant later this afternoon to formally introduce the thirty on track to becoming potential Binibinis for the 54th Edition. normannorman.com got an exclusive invite for the event. The faces will be named very soon!
Just when you thought that there are already several national beauty contests which will almost simultaneously happen this coming summer, Slimmers World adds up another one with the launch of Miss Bikini Philippines 2017 which will seek to crown the successor of last year’s Christine Opiaza.
If you’re interested to join, take note of the screening schedules at Manila Diamond Hotel as specified below:
