Earlier in the day at the Casino Filipino Pavilion in UN Avenue, the forty (40) Official Candidates of Miss Asia-Pacific International 2016 were introduced to members of the Press in an event that paved the way for the early favorites in the competition.
Mutya ng Pilipinas/MAPI President Jacqueline Tan-Sainz also took the opportunity to unveil the new Miss Asia-Pacific crown (made by Manny Halasan) to the amusement of everyone who attended. Voting was also done for the Press Favorites with Miss Yangon Nay Chi Lin coming out on top, Natalie Carriereof Canada placing 2nd and Achol Arow of South Sudan rounding up the Top 3.

Tonight, the National Costume Competition will get underway before the Talent Competition tomorrow night. By Saturday, all of them will fly to Puerto Princesa, Palawan and stay at Sheridan Resort and Spa until the finals night on November 23.
The running favorites so far are host delegate Ganiel Krishnan, Tatiana Tsimfer of Russia, Maria Platanova of Siberia, Mondy Laigle of New Caledonia, Madeleine Stock of Australia, Shiva Srishti Vyakaranam of India, Nan Hlaing Hlaing Moe of Myanmar, Soyeon Kim of Korea, Felicia George of Cook Islands and Achol Arow of South Sudan.

The ladies will definitely enjoy their stay in Puerto Princesa. It may be just for one brief week, but the beautiful atmosphere at Sheridan Resort and Spa will definitely motivate them to step up their games even more.
