I love the way our new and/or upcoming Fashion Designers are being given the spotlight in the wardrobe pieces of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo from the time she left the Philippines for the US last April 9.

Together with the styling duo of Rain Dagala and Em Millan, they are working hard to give our Queen the best looks for every important public appearance. There may still be points for improvement along the way, but they are on the right track.

Up to now, I have constantly teetered between #Binibini26 Emma Tiglao and #Binibini12 Gazini Ganados on who deserves to win a good crown more than the other. They appear to be almost in the same mold and impact.

My fervent wish is – to whoever among you will be destined to win – please remain just the way you are. As Confucius says, “Humility is the solid foundation of all virtues”. Use this as the core value of your reign so that you won’t change. Value every individual along the way to success and embrace the victory with kindness in your hearts. Ralph W. Sockman puts it very clearly:

True humility is intelligent self-respect which keeps us from thinking too highly or too meanly of ourselves. It makes us modest by reminding us how far we have come short of what we can be.

An All-Pinoy Triumvirate: Bragais, Pegarro Swim and Christopher Munar

 
Call it feel-good. I am so pleased that Bb. Pilipinas 2016 used the All-Filipino troika of Bragais™ by Jojo Bragais, Pegarro Swim by Julius Jaguio & Domz Ramos and Accessories by Christopher E Munar. And I really need to thank BPCI for entrusting these talented and creative individuals, alongside the use of local fashion designers for the National Costumes and Evening Gowns.

What makes it extra special is that I started blogging about them here and look where they are now. Hard work, commitment and good attitude are valuable in any work industry. I am extremely happy that they are getting the recognition they deserve.
