Earlier in the day, the flagship store of Smilee Apparel was formally opened in Binondo, Manila complete with all the trimmings of good luck that should bring good fortune and more prosperity for the newest business of the husband-and-wife team of Lloyd Lee and now Miss Universe Philippines National Director Shamcey S. Lee. A festive lion dance ceremony was performed after the ribbon-cutting. A short program was held in the 2nd floor where balladeer Christian Bautista serenaded everyone with two of his most famous songs.
CEO Paul Lee spoke to all guests and engagingly narrated the start of his textile business from scratch and how he considers #SmileeApparel as just the start of bigger things to come. Given his success, he thanked the City of Manila for the continued support and even pledged P1.00 to the city government for and even pledged to the city government P1.00 for every item sold for a period of one year. Along with this, he presented a check donation of One Million Pesos to the Manila City Hall.
Smilee Apparel will definitely set the standard in the products they will sell in the market. From tshirts to polo shirts to hoodies and more, they will expand the market into online, retail and wholesale. Popular clothing brands in the Philippines are already sourcing from them – proof of the quality they continue to preserve through the years.
Congratulations to everyone behind Smilee Apparel!
Tomorrow, watch out for my Sunday Specials blog entry on what Shamcey Supsup-Lee is looking for in the next Miss Universe Philippines!
Shamcey and Lloyd will only take note of comments from those who ACTUALLY buy.
I’m out. Young-ish apparel never looked good on me. Even when I was much younger.
Hihihih…… 🙂
I hope the MUPO make the final 5 announcement as suspensful as Miss USA and MU.
The fourth runner-up is…
The third runner-up is..
The second runner up is…
Here they are…the final two. (The drum starts beating…the audience is screaming…)
The first runner-up is very important. Should MUP not able to fulfill her duties then the first runner-up becomes MUP.
The new MUP for 2020 is…………Michelle Dee!
(Audience gives her a thundering applause, a deserved standing ovation and confetti is released from the ceilings.)
Meanwhile, the first runner-up, Samantha Lo joins the other runners-up for the photo shoot, she runs out of the building, into an awaiting limo who rushes her to the airport. Why? Her visa expires at midnight.
Lol…
Congratulations Shamcey and hubby! May your new business venture be saturated with success.
@ just saying Samantha Lo has become the butt of jokes. Like Steve Harvey after his gaffe at MU 2015, she is now everybody’s convenient whipping girl.
Michelle Marquez-Dee is on young end of the age spectrum; she probably is no more than 23, if I am not mistaken. And anyway, she just competed recently in London, which means she is still bound by contract to MWP. If this were Russia or France, the National organization would have no problem immediately fielding the country’s unplaced BIG3 rep to the next derby. I think it is the same with South Africa, Mexico, and Colombia. Fabian Reyes prefers her for 2022, after Atty. Magtanong (next year).
Confetti….. rather environment-UNfriendly….. quite Pinatubo/Taal evocation…… so Miss Russia. 🙂
flop ito
Ang ganda ng barong ni Lloyd! 🙂
Back to pageantry….
Ayaw talaga ng madla sa mungkahi ko’ng pagsabungin sina Atty. M. at Mademoiselle S. next year. Kaya pinu-push na ngayon’g taon (AGAD ULIT) sumabak ang latter; anyway, wala naman ‘yata’ng at par with her given the current range of options pagdating sa intellect.Maaari’ng siya ‘yung hinihintay kaya in-extend to katapusan ang Screening ng MUP 2020.
Then I’m right! Pat Babista will probably be 1st Runner-up. Oh, and if Alaiza is determined to go for MUP, then definitely (also) Runner-up would be her best finish. I’m personally rooting for two Butuanons to complete that Final 5 Cut – eager beaver McDonnell of Miss Millennial Philippines and former Miss Chinatown the very composed and dignified Marie Que.
Ms.Supsup-Lee, like I said before in that earlier post announcing that you are (now) the MUP ND, you are an Architect and can fully appreciate the virtues of a REALLY GOOD venue for the Final – HIGH ceiling and VAST floor area. Think IMPACT Arena (Thailand), or the Grand Palais (Paris). Please, NOT Philippine(s) Arena (Bulacan)!
Yaman na talaga ni Shamcey
NORMAN PAKISABI KAY SHAMCEY NA MUP DOES NOT NEED 40 CANDIDATES. FIVE CANDIDATES ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH IF THEY ARE INTELLIGENT, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND CAN COMMUNICATE EXCELLENTLY THEIR THOUGHTS. AND JULIA SAUBIER SHOULD BE ONE OF THEM. THANKS A LOT.
Sorry I like it when there’s more
Otherwise , just handpick the representative
Subier did not even make it to top 15 in Bb year…fine she can speak and communicate well in English but she lacks the beauty. Don’t get me wrong, and I did like her during the presentation and previous press conference of the pageant. However after seeing her without that thick layer of make up, I’m utterly shocked. There are other girls who can win the crowns who are eloquent and prettier than her.
Saubier did not even make top 25 ? It doesn’t matter
Those judges were idiots .
Look at the outcome
I think now Julia will be coming back with more training and experience . Let’s see where it takes her
