Last July 6, 2022, the 2022 Miss Universe Philippines Celeste Cortesi and Miss Universe Philippines Charity Pauline Amelinckx visited Save the Children Philippines’ nutrition program in Samar. They met with children and families who are actively participating in the program.

Miss Universe Philippines Inc. and Save the Children Philippines are continuously working together to end hunger, particularly among children most impacted by inequality and discrimination. The Miss Universe Philippines and Hope4Change are trying to help children in different parts of the Philippines to receive quality education that they need, particularly those heavily impacted by poverty.

On exhibit: The Francis Libiran Universe Collection

On exhibit at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza is the Francis Libiran Universe Collection which was opened last Wednesday night. It features all the creations that the Designer made for Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez. Most of them were worn during the 70th Miss Universe in Eilat, Israel.

The exhibit will run until next week.

Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Press Presentation

The Press Presentation of Miss Universe Philippines 2022 was successfully held at the Grand Ballroom of Hilton Manila where the Official Candidates were presented to members of the media and sponsors.

Director for Communications Voltaire Tayag and Steffi Aberasturi hosted the entire event which featured interviews with National Director Shamcey S. Lee and reigning titleholder Beatrice Luigi Gomez.

It was announced that – aside from three former Miss Universe titleholders (Pia Wurtzbach/Demi-Leigh Tebow/Iris Mittenaere) as hosts for the Finals – the reigning Miss Universe Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu of India will be flown in as VIP guest on April 30.

Of the 32 remaining finalists, the reps from Batanes and Ilocos Sur did not make it on time for the same due to reasons beyond their control.

Meanwhile, three candidates were announced as the winners of special awards (Sponsored by Frontrow)

Miss Universe Philippines celebrate International Women’s Day

In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Miss Universe Philippines Organization has partnered with the Embassy of Israel, Makati Medical Foundation and Spark Philippines for “The Isha Project”. Miss Universe Philippines 2021, Beatrice Luigi Gomez, signed the Manifesto of Support, alongside Israeli Ambassador Ilan Fluss, Dr. Victor Gisbert, President of Makati Medical Foundation, and Dr. Mercedes Viduya, Chairperson of the OB-Gyne Department. The Isha Project is a woman’s health and wellness advocacy program. It will provide free breast exams, pap smear and other health services to 300 women who may not be able to afford or have access to these.

This partnership will be one of several tangible efforts that the MUPh Organization will undertake in promoting women empowerment. According to Lia Andrea Ramos, MUPh Head of Women Empowerment and Charity, “We are very happy to support such a worthy cause that is perfectly aligned with our women’s health advocacy for this year’s pageant. In the coming weeks and months, we will be involved in programs that deal with women’s health and overall well-being.”

Today’s event was held the Makati Medical Center. Also present were Mr. Nir Balzam, Deputy Chief of Mission, Shamcey Supsup Lee, MUPh National Director, Voltaire Tayag,MUPh Director of Communications, Marge Barro, Executive Director of the Makati Med Foundation, Mikaela Luisa Teves, Executive Director of SPARK Philippines and Gen Charisse Manzano, Naval Reserve Force.

Israeli Ambassador Ilan Fuss said in the event, “The place of a woman is extremely important for a healthy society. This year we decided to focus on women’s health which is also extremely important which is access to health and preventive health. Not everybody has this access. I’m very happy we’re inaugurating this program.”

The first batch of women beneficiaries of “The Isha Project” included Navy and Coast Guard. MUPh 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez said, “It’s very heartwarming to be working with the Israeli Embassy again. They have been so supportive of me in my Miss Universe journey. I’m glad to be able to help support them this time. It’s also very cool that the first batch of women recipients are my fellow Navy along with the Coast Guards.”

The Miss Universe Philippines 2022 pageant has recently announced the Top 50 Official Delegates. The Finals night is slated for April 30, 2022 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Top 50 Official Delegates Announced

The Miss Universe Philippines Organization is proud to introduce this year’s roster of Filipina beauties vying for the most prestigious crown in the country. This edition is made more exciting starting with the announcement of the Top 50 Official Delegates. Narrowing the field gives immediate attention on these women who are only one step away from being in the Top 30. Accredited partners and their teams can hone in on fewer women giving them maximum support in the online challenges and preparations.

“We are extremely happy with our Top 50 Official Delegates. I know that as the challenges progress, the pageant fans will see how special and strong this year’s batch of delegates are. Accomplished, articulate, beautiful and very relatable women will charm. Proving why Miss Universe Philippines is the country’s most coveted crown.” Shamcey Supsup-Lee, MUPh National Director.

The Organization is very proud to continue a tradition of showcasing Filipinas from various regions of the Philippines. They recognize that many aspiring applicants were surprised with the earlier pageant schedule and shortened preparation time. That’s why it is crucial that efforts are concentrated on the Top 50 from the very start.
However, lesser official delegates doesn’t mean easier competition. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. It intensifies the fight to get a slot in the Top 30 as they navigate through the several online challenges (Headshot, Introduction Video, Swimsuit, Fashion & Runway, and Interview Challenges).

“The MUPh Organization and other panelists interviewed the pre-screened applicants for two days. Arriving at a Top 50 wasn’t an easy task as each one needed to have a unanimous or majority vote. Several well-known queens screened but there are also numerous newbies that pageant watchers will delight in getting to know as well.” Voltaire Tayag, MUPh Director of Communications.

Last year’s Miss Universe Philippines 2021, Beatrice Luigi Gomez, thrilled Filipino pageant fans with a Top 5 finish at Miss Universe 2021 in Eilat, Israel. She wowed the judges with her brand of cool, calm confidence. She showed that individuality, a strong sense of self and performing when it counts are key contributors to pageant success.

Meanwhile, Miss Universe Philippines 2020, Rabiya Mateo, has found success as an actress landing important roles in TV shows and also continuously doing motivational speaking engagements throughout the country. Who will follow the footsteps of these phenomenal women?
