This national costume was Inspired by Hannah’s favourite toy (gifted by her mother) as a child: a Barbie wearing a Maria Clara Filipiniana, which Manny Halasan took inspiration from and mixed it with his own fond childhood memories of his grandfather’s antique tambourine.
Manny Halasan wants us to remember our childhood experiences and look back on our past through this classic traditional Filipiniana.

Love the costume but did she wear a different color version in the stage??
The Miss International season reminds me of Mimilanie Laurel Marquez, the most successful Pinay who competed in the pageant. Days before the finals, she was named Best in National Costume for her Renee Salud Filipiniana with serpentina cut and was also selected as Festival Queen (forgot the exact name) prior to finals night

Hannah is the only Asian to reach the Top 15 so why was Japan declared as Miss International Asia??? Uso na rin ba ang homecourt decision sa kanila? Aside from Hannah, the other Asians particularly Vietnam, Indonesia and India are even way better than Japan.
I was told that the other delegates voted for these continental titles – much like a Congeniality thing.

Shades of Lolita fashion, the uber feminine street fashion in Japan. With lots of lace, ruffles and embroidery, in pastel colors (tones of white, pink and blue), this costume seems like a celebration of femininity, cuteness, modesty and beauty. I’m sure the Japanese will like it.
This time costume has elegance. Ganda talaga. Just wow. Makakalimutan mo na competition pala ito. It is a class on its own. It is very “wearable.” If you will wear this in modern times on red carpet, you will make a statement. Viva Filipinas!

Sir Manny is a true creative.
Beautiful and elegant. Not garish and gaudy. No feathers, no sequins, no big hula hoop behind her covered with flowers or sun rays. She can actually walk in this costume. And it fits the Japanese aesthetics of understated but well crafted, simple and elegant.
Manny Halasan has a good eye for the sublime.
