I will endeavor to give the less talked-about ladies their share of the spotlight in this blog. On my FB and IG social media accounts, I have already given a lot of them adequate exposure.
So let’s begin with this lovely phenomenal woman representing Misamis Oriental. Caroline Veronilla is a Magna cum Laude graduate of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan with a degree in Development Communication major in Development Journalism last 2015. She was also recipient of the Dux Gregis Award for Sowing Young Leaders for Service during Magis Awards 2015.
A staunch advocate of World Vision Philippines where she is a Donor Education Specialist, Caroline has always had children’s welfare in the core of her charitable activities. In fact during this quarantine period, she was able to organize a fund-raiser to help provide school materials to more than twenty children in World Vision Communities.
“…Our simple gifts will definitely inspire them to value their education and persevere in school. I am also hopeful that by supporting children, we can increase youth participation and engagement in local, national, and global levels – a factor crucial in ensuring that programs and processes are inclusive and appropriate for young people.”
“As I continue to serve vulnerable children, I hold on to the idea that their stories need to be heard so they can have the opportunity to make their dreams come true. I vow to use my platform to encourage meaningful storytelling and conversations that will bring us to work together for their benefit…”
Caroline is also actively promoting the latest tourism campaign of her province called #ExploreMisOrMore where she focuses on one beautiful local destination at a time to familiarize people on what they can experience and explore in the place.

“The Provincial Tourism Office of Misamis Oriental recently launched it’s newest tourism campaign entitled, EXPLORE MISOR MORE! This is also very timely as the province celebrates Tourism Week. If you wish to see more updates and information regarding the tourism of Misamis Oriental, go check out our website at http://www.exploremisor.com.ph! Bahalag di pa ta kalaag karon, at least we can still experience the beauty of our province online.”

During last week’s finals of Miss Kuyamis 2019 at the Tagoloan Dome in Misamis Oriental, a 19 year-old beauty from the Municipality of Medina outclassed nineteen (19) other contenders to be the best in the annual pageant that celebrates the beauty, tourism and culture of the Northern Mindanao province. Her name is Chella Grace Falconer.

Chella is no pageant newbie. In fact, she already took part in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2017 where she placed in the Top 10. She was only 17 back then. This time around, she returned with an entirely polished version of herself to be the unanimous choice of the judges to win the Miss Kuyamis title and become the representative of Misamis Oriental in the national competition of either Miss Millennial Philippines 2019 or Miss Earth Philippines 2019.
I love it that provincial pageants have already managed to keep pace with the production of their national counterparts. And with the leadership of Governor Bambi Emano and Provincial Tourism Officer Atty Jeffrey Saclot, the finals was a big success. It was mounted seamlessly under the direction of Dennis Almazan, with Celebrity Designer Bea Bianca providing the swimwear and evening gowns of the ladies. A tribute was also given to two of their successful homegrown achievers – Miss Earth Philippines Water 2018 Berjayneth Chee and Miss Millennial Philippines 2018 1st Runner-Up Danna Rose Socaoco.
Watch out for more of Chella this year as she prepares herself for the even bigger challenge of winning in the national level and bringing more pride to the entire MisOr.

From the minute the plane landed in Laguindingan Airport, the entire Province of Misamis Oriental rolled out the red carpet to the visiting beauties of Miss Earth Philippines 2018 along with Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco, Miss Earth Philippines Fire 2017 Ella Bautista and Carousel Productions’ VP Peachy Veneracion. Your blogger was given a special invitation to be part of the delegation and I must say that the Provincial Tourism Department of MisOr made sure that each activity was an exciting one, while actively promoting the tourism efforts started by its beloved and indefatigable Governor Yevgeny Vincente “Bambi” Emano.
After checkin at Appletree Resort and Hotel in Opol, a lovely dinner was hosted at the plush Ultrawinds Mountain Resort on the first night, then it was off to a morning radio guesting with the Governor for Lambo Misamis Oriental, a fashion show (featuring the Summer Collection of Designer Bea Bianca) and travel magazine launch at the Centrio Mall, Press Conference with the Misamis Oriental members of the media, speedboat rides to breathtaking Agutayan White Island, a trek to Sagpulon Falls, a peek into the Sailfin Lizard Farm in Jasaan, a promotional appearance at the Misamis Oriental Farmers Market and a Meet-and-Greet with all the Provincial Capitol heads and employees. To cap off everything, a sumptuous dinner buffet at Panagatan Restaurant was served before boarding a late flight out of Laguindingan last night.
Thank you once more to Governor Bambi Emano and Tourism Officer Atty. Jeffrey Saclot for the continuously warm hospitality given to everyone.
The fourteen Miss Earth Philippines 2018 delegates who were part of the visit are Theressa Martinez of Fil-Queensland, Naomie White of Fil-Sydney, Brazzirie Yanson of Fil-Vienna, Lea Macapagal of Dinalupihan Bataan, Jean de Jesus of San Rafael Bulacan, Joana Dalangin of Lipa City, Marjorie Vista of Malinao Albay, Analea Rabe of Sta. I have known this sweet young lady for quite some time now. She really prepared hard for her first big national beauty pageant and is getting the full support of the entire Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental through Governor Bambi Emano. She is their biggest pride in Miss Philippines Earth 2018. Now here is a quick bio on Berjayneth Chee.

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
My environmental advocacy is to educate people, especially in costal areas to become “bantay dagat” or sea guardians for them to help enforce marine protection policies.
Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2018?
I want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2018 because I would like to pursue on a national scale my advocacy of educating people, especially in costal areas to become sea guardians, and thus, help in protecting and preserving our marine life. I want to make use of this title and the influence it carries to serve as an example of good deeds for our environment.
