Behold your #Binibini30 Iza Valerio of Arayat, Pampanga in her Bb. Pilipinas National Costume created by Rian Fernandez:
“MOUNTAIN ENCHANTRESS”
Notes from the designer
This creation is inspired by the mythical goddess of Mt. Arayat, Maria Sinukuan— a Kapampangan sun god of war and death who lived on Mount Arayat. She is also dubbed as the sacred protector of the mountain and the animals that surround it.
Pampanga is known as a natural bird haven in the Philippines, wherein 14,000 kinds of nomadic birds gather each year in the swamps as a stopover before continuing their migration to different parts of the world. These birds are important to humans in various ways — such as providing natural fertilizers and dispersing seeds all over the mountain.
This goddess characterizes kindness among animals and generosity to its inhabitants. This ensemble is a magnificent symbolism of the rich and colorful heritage of Pampanga.
