Behold your #Binibini39 Bellatrix Belle Tan of Zamboanga in her Bb. Pilipinas National Costume created by Erich Miñoza:
(Full moon worship of the Subanens )
Notes from the designer
A creation that mirrors the rich culture of the first inhabitants of the Zamboanga peninsula.
“Princess Nayac” a royal princess of the tribe Subanen, the daughter of Subanen King, King Timway Saragan. She is a reformed royal princess who travels regularly from one location to another to clear more forest fields.
She is destined to be a fierce warrior princess who will be the strongest and most powerful subanen tribesman
Traditional wear consisted of upper and lower garments with headdress and other accessories. The tight fitting garment that was generally black made that symbolizes the night as the time of worship of the tribe. The tribe believes that the black garment can shield them against the effect of the eclipse. This attire in full regalia consisting of “sub” (upper), “magpandyo” (headdress), “G’lang” (bracelet), “Sing’I” (angklet).
An iconic picture and history unveiled for the nation to see.

The five bets of Designer Bing Cristobal in MPE2016 (Photo credit: Joy Arguil)
Next in line for my features on the Miss Philippines Earth 2016 candidates is a group of five (5) ladies who share one person in common – Designer Bing Cristobal (or Mama Bing to yours truly
) who takes care of all their needs wardrobe and styling for the competition.
I have previously blogged about one of them – Loren Mar Artajos of Laoag City – so far. Here are the four others on the list.
There is April Angelique Arciaga, 23, of Muntinlupa City who is a Nursing graduate.
She is followed by future Chemist Riji Anne Mae Canog of the City of Sta. Rosa who – like Miss Universe Philippines 2013 Ara Arida – graduated from UP Los Baños with the same degree. She is also 23.
23 year-old Mass Communication graduate Jennifer Mangaring of Las Piñas City is fourth.
And the lady from Zamboanga City – Bellatrix Tan – rounds up the circle of five contenders. She is 20 and currently studying at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University.
