Now this is one teaser that I am dead serious about actually happening in 2020. And it’s not just because she could be one of the most gorgeous faces that any of our national beauty pageants will have next year. She also has such a spontaneous personality that blends with an engaging physical presence.
Daisha Jimenez gave it one pre-empted try a number of years back (in 2017 if memory serves me right) when she was introduced during a mock pageant of KF held at the House Manila. She did not push through with the actual application with Bb. Pilipinas, though. I was a bit disappointed then because she has all the makings of a winner. Good height (minimum of 5’9”), standout looks, excellent communication skills and, oh, she can also sing.
If you have watched the trailer of the upcoming teleserye of ABS-CBN titled “Make It With You”, Daisha somehow reminds me of the Billy/Belinda character that lead female star Liza Soberano is playing. Now it comes as no coincidence that I am making a comparison here. There simply is a striking semblance between these two. But that’s as far as I would describe the former because she has a marked identity all her own.
I really don’t care much whichever camp gets to field her (although I was told that she was supposed to join Bb. Pilipinas earlier this year under A&Q). The important thing is that she gets convinced to finally give her nod. And that 2020 is the year to do it. If the upload of her latest photo below is any hint, she could be considering it at the very least. And I am keeping my fingers crossed. She is definitely a keeper!
Heard from the grapevine that an A-list celebrity could be joining Bb. Pilipinas 2018, and that she is a product of neither Aces & Queens nor Kagandahang Flores. Now, whenever I hear the word “celebrity”,’it doesn’t necessarily point to a showbiz personality. She could also be an A-list model or social figure.
Liza Soberano comes to mind but no, she is currently tied down with a big (upcoming) ABS-CBN project so that is a no-no. The next one I am thinking of is Kelsey Merritt. Now she is an A-list Celebrity Model who is the face of Maybelline Philippines.
Could it be possible? Or am I being blindsided by someone from a prominent clan who is seriously eyeing the nationals?
This is getting to be real exciting!
And the most beautiful face of 2017 belongs to our very own Liza Soberano! And I am not at all surprised because her gorgeousness definitely belongs up there – high in the pedestal and still reachable for the Filipino fans and supporters of this talented ABS-CBN artist.
The 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2017 list is released on a yearly basis by TC Candler and The Independent Critics since 1990 and it includes 100 women from almost 40 countries. According to Candler, the list is “not about the hottest or the most famous celebrity.” It rather “attempts to inform and broaden public opinion, instead of reflecting it.” Also, the list “introduces new faces to countries they ordinarily would not reach.”

Gabbi as photographed by Erwin Canlas for Preview Magazine
She answers to the full name Gabriella Louise Ortega Lopez. But in the world of local showbiz, she is simply known by her screen name “Gabbi Garcia”.
An exclusive talent of GMA Artist Center, Gabbi is all of 18 and already showing great potentials of becoming a beauty queen years from now. In fact, she said during an interview with Allan Policarpio of the Philippine Daily Inquirer that “Given the chance, I’d love to join Binibining Pilipinas. I’m only 18. But maybe when I turn 22 and have become more mature, who knows? I stand 5 feet, 7 inches. Maybe I’d still get taller!”
The past number of months saw her being pitted against ABS-CBN’s Liza Soberano as the likeliest joiners of a future Bb. Pilipinas edition representing GMA Network. And I don’t see why not. Given time to evolve into the “right” age for the nationals, she could really suit for pageantry and be a titleholder someday.
But for now, let us enjoy her blooming beauty on the small screen. 🙂

Below are scenes from the Pia Wurtzbach Story on MMK
I just thought of sharing some scenes from last night’s Pia Wurtzbach story – as played by actress Liza Soberano – on ABS-CBN’s MMK. These are the ones approaved for upload by the network less than a day after the actual airing of the episode.
For those who did watch the entire program, what are your thoughts?
This coming Saturday, June 3, the life story of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach will finally unfold on the ABS-CBN weekly drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya?” courtesy of the beautiful Liza Soberano who will play the lead. Focus will be given on her family life (and the drama surrounding her younger years) before achieving pageant glory. Her mother, Cheryl, will be played by actress Zsa Zsa Padilla.
Watch out for cameos of ladies from Aces & Queens – like Apriel Smith, Jessica Ramirez and Patricia Babista – during her training scenes at the beauty camp.

Don’t miss this episode of MMK!
Liza Soberano during a lull in the taping of a future MMK episode where she will play Pia Wurtzbach (she is also wearing Bragais heels)
Don’t look now, but beautiful ABS-CBN star Liza Soberano will star in an upcoming episode of “Maalaala Mo Kaya
” (MMK) where she will play the role of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach. Of course, the story will partly revolved around Queen P’s rise to pageant superstardom, but it will also narrate details of her family life where her mother will be played by Zsa Zsa Padilla.
My favorite heels-maker, Jojo Bragais, created several custom-made pairs for Liza that resemble the exact ones Queen P wore during Bb. Pilipinas and her reign as Miss Universe.
Watch out for this episode which should air either this coming Saturday or next. 🙂
Liza Soberano is now a Maybelline Beauty Advisor
The beautiful young lady everybody wants to join Bb. Pilipinas and become a Beauty Queen is now the latest endorser and beauty advisor of worldwide cosmetic brand Maybelline.
In the #MakeItHappenEventWithLiza yesterday, the popular ABS-CBN actress gamely played the role of Beauty Advisor to unsuspecting customers checking out the Maybelline counter before she was introduced as its newest image presenter.
Her advice on being confident? “First, to be empowered means to feel confident and comfortable with who you are. And how to do that? Acknowledge your flaws and improve from there. Some little help from a good set of people around you would help heaps, and of course, a dash of make-up wouldn’t hurt!”
Liza is specifically promoting her favorite Maybelline product – the Clearsmooth All in one Powder Foundation – which can help achieve the naturally beautiful look and get shine-free flawless coverage for the Filipina skin. It’s 2x lightweight, dermatologically tested and available in 4 shades. It only costs P149.00. Very reasonable!

Star Magic talent Michelle Vito has the makings of a beauty queen
After Liza Soberano, another ABS-CBN Star Magic talent comes our blog’s way. Michelle Vito is one of those young princesses of the network (together with Liza and Julia Barretto) being groomed for stardom.
While Michelle may still be underage for our national pageants, she is most definitely brimming with beauty that would be welcomed by Bb. Pilipinas. But then again, if she becomes a big celebrity in the next year or two, chances are that she would not be too keen in taking the risk of joining one.
Standing at 5’6″, she can still grow an inch or two before turning 18. And with the kind of aura she exudes, there’s no other way but up in terms of styling and projection. The people at Star Magic sure know how to make their talents look super gorgeous. 😉
