Angelee is fiercely beautiful in these shots taken by Raphael Yu
Two former Miss Earth Beauties will battle it out for Miss Multiverse 2015 in Congo. There’s Miss Philippines Angelee delos Reyes from Miss Earth 2013 (Top 8) of course. And then there’s Miriam Odessa of Tanzania, Miss Air 2008. Who will prevail between the two of them?
Both are highly competitive ladies. And I reckon that they will tackle the reality pageant with confidence and lots of personality. Who’s your bet? 🙂
Miriam Odemba is hauntingly captivating in her share of photos here.
Miriam Odemba of Tanzania (right) when she was named Miss Air to Karla Henry's Miss Earth back in 2008.
Back in 2008, Miss Earth had the host delegate for a winner. And nobody was closer to spoiling the victory of Karla Henry than her 1st Runner-up (or Miss Air
) Miriam Odemba of Tanzania who many pageant watchers thought was to become Africa’s 2nd ME titleholder after Kenya’s Winnie Omwakwe (who replaced the dethroned Dzejla Glavovic
) of 2001.
Miriam has the fun and engaging personality all her own. Most of the candidates agreed that she would be a nice fit for the crown. But then again, the Cebuana in Karla was not to be denied the bragging rights as the first Filipina to be named top environmental warrior. She more than nailed the Q&A. And so, when it was time for the last two women standing, the crowd at the Philippine Centennial Expo in Clark, Pampanga knew that the Tanzanian would definitely come in second.
And while Miss Odemba was hoping she could pull the rug from under Miss Henry’s feet, it just wasn’t meant to be at the time.
Anyways, check out one of her latest fashion pics below.

Miss Universe-Spain 2010 Adriana Reveron
The scheduled finals of Miss Espana 2010 has been pegged for September 25 in Toledo. As a result, the organizers decided to call in previous participants and placers, all 14 of them, from where the country’s Miss Universe representative in Las Vegas next month will be selected. Running out of time, they picked the Top 3 from those who joined. Adriana Reveron of Tenerife, formerly Miss Earth-Spain back in 2008, was named winner and is now getting ready to leave for Sin City. The other two ladies who closely pursued her are 1st Runner-Up Tania Ladeiro who was Miss Las Palmas 2005, while the familiar-looking Alejandra Echevarria of Jaen (Miss Earth-Spain and Miss Fire 2009) picked 2nd Runner-Up honors.
(L-R) Alejandra Echevarria, 2nd Runner-Up; Adriana Reveron, Miss Espana Universe 2010 and Tania Ladeiro, 1st Runner-Up.
Clearly, there was a bit of mad scramble to name the Miss Universe representative of Spain, especially that they announced the selections shortly after the country’s World Cup victory, possibly riding the wave of frenzy and excitement that continues to spur the adrenaline rush in every Spaniard. Will this sit well with the Miss Universe organization? I’m not sure, but Adriana will do her darndest best to hopefully continue the winning streak.
Will Adriana's Miss Earth experience help once she mounts the Miss Universe stage in Las Vegas?
In a separate news not pageant-related, the Madrid Zoo has offered to buy Paul the Octopus from Germany and pay tribute by giving the cephalopod a special residence in their animal park after correctly predicting Spain’s win in the World Cup. If this deal pushes through, then wouldn’t it be more nerve-wracking for the poor creature if they placed more than 80 flag-designed boxes in his aquarium and expect him to forecast which country will win Miss Universe 2010? Just a crazy thought to set up my manic Monday, guys!
Buena suerte, Adriana! 😉
Starting this year, a new crown will be placed on the head of Miss Earth. Designed by Jeweler Ramona Haar, this is how it is described in the official Miss Earth website:
“Preservation of the planet Earth is one of the most important considerations when the new Miss Earth crown was created. The masterpiece was designed by an ecologically minded Jewelry Designer, Ramona Haar, and Official Jeweler of the Miss Earth pageant.
To lessen the environmental impact that mining creates, the crown is made of 100% recycled precious metals comprising of 14K Gold and Argentums Sterling Silver. What sets this crown apart is the fact that the gemstones used both precious and semi-precious were donations from over 80 different participating countries. These are gemstones that each country is known for either as the origin or source. The gemstones were sent in various forms: faceted, cabochons, beads or rough. The designer travelled to Jaipur, India to have these gemstones individually cut and faceted to the required cut and sizes.
The Flower as the central design represents Mother Earth and as Ralph Waldo Emerson puts it “The earth laughs in flowers”. The recurring spiral motif has always been associated with Maternal Power and Feminine Prestige which is the Essence of Miss Earth. The gentle curves symbolizes Unity and the Spirit of Cooperation.”
