One of the most highly-anticipated national beauty pageants is currently holding its regionals at almost simultaneous pace. And it is no wonder why Miss Venezuela is considered the toughest competition for country representatives to Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Earth. The quality of ladies for pre-qualification alone is so high that by the time the Official Candidates have been named, you can be sure that they have gone through stringent judging, physical improvements and training. In short, only the best of the best will get the privilege of taking part in the ultra-competitive nationals usually held October of every year.
In addition, the victories of Maria Gabriela Isler (top photo above) and Alyz Henrich as Miss Universe and Miss Earth, respectively, have spurred Osmel Sousa and his team to exceed their previous efforts. Outside the Philippines with three big wins in 2013, Venezuela is the only other country going for more than one back-to-back in 2014.
The photos below are just samples of some of the enthusiastic delegates for Misses Carabobo and Lara, two of the regional sashes.

Watch out for my future blog posts on the ladies who will officially fight for the crowns of the 62nd edition of Miss Venezuela! 😀
