Your Binibini 9 Vanessa Saliba possesses one of the most beautiful faces in the 2017 batch
Back in 2014, Vanessa Saliba was still a fresh-faced 18 year-old newbie in the pageant scene who signed up for Bb. Pilipinas as an Independent. Now, the more beautifully leveled-up young lass has returned to the nationals, armed with all the training and development sessions she went through with Aces & Queens. She knows better than to be just one of the pretty faces. And she now possesses a more distinct confidence amd maturity to step up to the demands of the competition as your Binibini 9.
Here is what Vanessa shared with me:
“I am Vanessa Saliba – of Fil-Lebanese mix, 21 years of age and representing Tanay, Rizal. I graduated from Our Lady of Fatima University with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Travel Management. I’ve worked as an sales associate in a company that supplies interior design finishes and now I am working as a print and fashion model.
I am so happy to be an official candidate of Bb. Pilipinas for the second time around and I am so overwhelmed with all the love and support I have been receiving from my family, friends and supporters. This time. I am more prepared because of the trainings and guidance of my Aces & Queens family. Believe me, I am most ready to get one of the crowns. 🙂”

For the terno competition of Bb. Pilipinas 2017, Vanessa will be dressed up my friend-designer Claiza Bihasa who is making a truly beautiful Filipiniana with an elegant wow factor. And she is all the more excited to go through all pre-pageant events now. Will she be more successful as a second-timer?

Last night, the final ancillary event of the 65th Miss Universe was held at Conrad Manila. It was the well-attended National Gift Auction which followed the much-anticipated Designers Showcase where our talented designers took the spotlight where their creations were worn on the runway by the contestants.
As leader-of-the-pack Albert Andrada puts it, “I am so happy and fulfilled to have talked to 87 Filipino fashion designers and to unite them in one of the major ancillary events of the Miss Universe Competition. January 23 will be a night of gift giving, empowered women and a fashion gala of Filipino designers. This is a very rare evening wherein one can witness the Miss Universe’s official candidates wearing the creations of our country’s pride in the fashion industry. To my colleagues in the fashion industry, THANK YOU SO MUCH for your support!!! Mabuhay!” #united #filipinofashiondesigners #missuniverse2017

I had a lot of fun and a relaxing stay in Aurora Province for Binibining Baler 2016
Middle of last week, I took the long trip to Baler, Aurora to sit as one of the judges during the Binibining Baler 2016 finals held at the Sentro Baler last August 17. It was three days of fun and pageantry in this eastern province of Luzon that gave me the time to relax and recharge my batteries while staying at the beautiful Costa Pacifica where the organizers – headed by Designer Claiza Bihasa (Pageant Chair and Daughter of Baler Mayor Pilot Bihasa) – billeted me at one of the VIP rooms at the very scenic property.
Along with fellow judges Bb. Pilipinas Supranational and Miss Supranational 2012 3rd Runner-Up Elaine Kay Moll, Bb. Pilipinas International 2015 Janicel Lubina, Gentlemen of the Philippines-Worldwide 2015 Jolo Dayrit, PAL Express Director Leonides Pena and Tourism Undersecretary Katherine de Castro, I helped in selecting the fairest among the thirteen contenders for Binibining Baler 2016. And we all had a grand time doing so. The crowd turnout was nothing short of amazing as the venue was literally filled to the rafters. And with hosts Marc Nash and Dian Querrer expertly navigating the whole show, the event was completed in less than three hours – not very common in provincial pageants.
Below are more photos from my stay in Baler.

Pageant Chair Claiza Bihasa promises to come up with an even more exciting edition for 2017. Baler is such a beautiful and still unspoiled tourist destination. And she would really like to catch up with the Tourism efforts of other provinces to hopefully elevate this town into a first-class municipality in a couple of years’ time. Perhaps, a commercial airport will be opened soon, followed by more establishments for visitors? Why not? 😉

P.S. Thank you for the yummy Nanay Pacing Peanut Butter and Coco Jam, organizers! 😀

Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
