Who among the 70 delegates above will win the 51st Miss International crown?

Together, let’s find out who will take the place of last year’s winner, Elizabeth Mosquera of Venezuela (photo, left).

Within the next few weeks, this blog will be featuring posts on the pre-pageant activities of the ladies in Chengdu, leading up to the coronation night on November 6, which also happens to be the same date that Miss World 2011 will be chosen.

This is going to be a busy late October up to early November alright! 🙂

The Quartet is now complete! The Big 4 beauty pageants of 2010 have already crowned their Queens as follows:

MISS UNIVERSE 2010: Jimena Navarrete of Mexico
MISS WORLD 2010: Alexandria Mills of the USA
MISS INTERNATIONAL 2010: Elizabeth Mosquera of Venezuela
MISS EARTH 2010: Nicole Faria of India

And what do these four gorgeous ladies have in common? They all come from pageant powerhouse countries!

Let’s see which nation/s will shine brightest in 2011 but this early, it looks like Venezuela and Mexico won’t be letting their guards down as their representatives for next year have already been selected and boy, are they FIERCE! 😉

Venezuela nails win #6 at Miss International 2010

Elizabeth Mosquera accomplished win#6 for Venezuela at Miss International. She defeated more than 60 delegates to win this year’s crown. Placing 1st Runner-Up was Piyaporn Deejing of Thailand, with Yuan Xiyi of China landing 2nd Runner-Up honors.

Ms. Philippines, Krista Kleiner, a heavy favorite, made it to the Top 15 and received a unique special award for Miss Expressive.

My Top 15 favorites for Miss International 2010

Tonight will be the coronation night of Miss International 2010 in Chengdu, China. The winner will automatically become the 50th Anniversary Queen and will replace last year’s titleholder – Anagabriela Espinosa of Mexico. From among the 65 delegates, I trimmed down the list to just 15 ladies who I believe have excellent chances of taking home the pearl-studded crown tonight. In alphabetical order, they are:

Katie Starke (Canada)

Lucie Smatanova (Czech Rep.)

Susanna Turja (Finland)

Etsuko Kanagae (Japan)

Gabriela Palacio (Mexico)

Krista Mae Kleiner (Philippines)

Desiree Panal (Spain)

Cecilia Ragnarsson (Sweden)

Personally, the five ladies I see fighting tooth and nail for the crown are Krista Kleiner of the Philippines, Etsuko Kanagae of Japan, Lilian Lopes of Brazil, Lucie Smatanova of Czech Republic and Elizabeth Mosquera of Venezuela. My sentimental favorite, of course, is Krista Kleiner since I want her to win the Philippines’ 5th Miss International title. If fate has it otherwise, though, I wouldn’t mind seeing Etsuko Kanagae clinching her country’s first-ever Miss International win in the pageant’s 50-year history. 😉

Miss Philippines Krista Kleiner is the current leader in the ranking of Miss International 2010 candidates as conducted by Global Beauties. Go Krista!

Miss Philippines Krista Kleiner is proving that she is one of the most popular and beautiful among the 68 ladies vying for Miss International 2010. Global Beauties is acknowledging that by putting her on top of their latest rankings.

Krista Mae Kleiner was feted by Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) to a formal send-off to the Miss International 2010 Beauty Contest which will be hosted once by Chengdu, China. She is the last of the three Bb. Pilipinas winners this year to compete abroad (Czarina Gatbonton is currently in the thick of Miss World competition in Sanya). Pageant pundits are optimistic of her chances to become the country’s 5th Miss International titleholder and for good reason. Watch the video below to see why…

Tomorrow, Miss Espana 2010 will be crowned at Plaza del Ayuntamiento in Toledo. The winner will be Spain’s representative to the Miss World 2010 next month in Sanya, China. Meanwhile, the runners-up will be sent to Miss Universe 2011, Miss Earth 2010 and Miss International 2010, respectively. The reigning queen is Estebaliz Pereira.
