Environmental Heroines a la Superheroes of the Modern Age is the fresh new take on Miss Earth 2017. Much like the Wonder Woman movie that has been released this year, the approach is like a Hollywood blockbuster that espouses their Earth Warrior qualities at the same time. I believe the credit goes to the young minds that Carousel Productions is now utilizing in the production process, much like how Miss Philippines Earth 2017 was presented last July.

I like this concept. It’s different and at least they try to stay relevant. If they could just add some glitz in the final production.
Among the global pageants, Miss Earth never ceases to amaze me on the abundance of fresh ideas. Its differential advantage over the rest of the global pageants lies not on the crystal clear and timely advocacy, but the ability to trailblaze on innovative activities never before done in the pageantry world.
My only misgiving is that I have yet to see Miss Earth Warriors fighting climate change in the halls of the United Nations General Assembly or in their respective countries’ congress. Yes, there is a global urgency to fight climate change. The United Nations is in the forefront of this fight. Typhoons are getting stronger, sea levels are rising, forests are diminishing, desertification creeps like wildfire, animal species are dwindling, new virus strains are sprouting– all these need a united front on a global scale. Even being a poster girl of the Paris Treaty Secretariat is already a milestone for Miss Earth. At least it has gone a level higher than promoting SM Supermarket’s Eco bags, or tree planting.
My Elemental Court shall consist of Thailand (FTW!) with Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and either Sweden or Belgium. Myanmar and Guam should be given the kind of attention that Russia and Italy got last year.

Don’t expect na all the way na si Miss Thailand sa crown(kahit na siya talaga ang one sa super deserving girls this year) dahil if you follow their(MEO & the chakang team) social media accounts, you will nose na ang latest offering para sa ek-ek na Pinoy politicians ay si Miss Chile. Same pattern, same pambubugaw parin like last year. Hate na hate si Julie More-lee sa pageant scene pero your mother Lukring right here ang pinaka despicable at evilya na master chef sa big 4 pageants. Lol 😝 😂🤣😂 a gaynnnnn, yun lang! I love Fahsai din, mga bakes! I hope siya ang I-crown sa Pasay this November! 💙🇹🇭

I agree, Miss Earth is not just about the face. In fact, Miss Venezuela Earth 2016 won the best face of Miss Earth last year but she had to settle 4th place against Ecuador na performer talaga.
