Catriona Gray, Sandra Lemonon, Arienne Louise Calingo, Vinie Dy Quiangco and Ralph Lauren Asuncion are raring to go full blast in their hunt for the crown. It could be for the experience or the earnest effort of four of them to try and snatch the crown from the heavy favorite Catriona.
Could these five be the eventual Top 5 national finishers in 2016? Or will KF and the other camps (including independent ones) steal the thunder from one or two of them.
Watch out for the final screening scheduled this coming August 23 where the final slate of Official Candidates will be known. 🙂

I can feel the “Megan Young” vibes on Catriona. Same sa naramdaman ko kay Pia last year. Iyong tipong siya na ang itinakdang koronahan.

She can easily get the top spot not only in MWP2016 but also in MW2016 with that nearly perfect look, styling, height, plus the BWAP she has been working on and her singing talent. I mean what can we ask for? Oh well, give the sports fast track to other candidates after all Miss World is still a beauty pageant in its sense and not Olympics.

Catriona is perfect for MW. Some girls sometimes just fit with certain pageants. I’m sure Jonas might have some say about what pageant she would suit well. Catriona reminds me of Jennifer Lawrence!

Parang mahiyain sya pero ma ta train yan para ma boost ang confidence at lumakas ang aura. She can be our 4th MU. Tahimik ang KF baka bubulaga. Lakas din ng laban ni lemonon. Manlalamon din sya. Sandra is fit for bbp. Supra or MU.

Sensya Geoff, alam ng kampo ni Max binabantayan sila ng ibang reps. Sa IG nag aabang na rin kame pero wala talagang updates ng training nya. In an interview she did mention na binabantayan din nya ibang tao sa prep nila.
For now eto muna bantayan nyo, Mariam Habach released a video of her pasarela. All good, except that she looks like a tranny talaga however lovable she is, overly manufactured talaga fez nya:
Yup laila bantay na bantay sya ng ibang bansa. I know strategy nila yan na wala sila ipakita. Pero sana man lang kahit tease video man lang ng catwalk nya meron yung tipong mabibitin ka ng todo pero at least may naipakita. Pampagana kung baga sa mga pinoy. Na kakamiss lang kasi si max.

May isang photo si lemonon nakita ko sa IG maganda yung smile nya. Pero kay Cat talaga to. Hindi lang physically superior si Cat, hindi sya nag slack off sa prep nya. Talagang pinaghandaan nya every aspect. The Latin and Indo sites have crying emojis attached to her photo. They like her so much that they’re sort of intimidated by her.
But of course Ms. Gray, smart as she is as a whistle, will not let this foreign adulation get to her head. These emoji tears can easily turn insincere, so she must do all she must to stay ahead of the pack this early. She must set the pace, continually raise the bar, and take advantage of all the resources at her disposal. Like all of history’s queens, a little shrewdness on her part will help.

Catriona has prepared for this. She wants this so bad. For someone who has her heart in the right place, she deserves to win the crown. MWP is a good training ground for beauty pageant rookies and the four A&Q entrants can use their experience here as a springboard to future pageant forays like Bb Pilipinas. Who can blame them when someone like Catriona Gray who has been literally preparing for years, looks every inch the virtual winner?? It’s really not MWP’s fault if it has taken the 2nd tier spot after Binibini with just one crown. With girls naturally gravitating to Stella Araneta, you end up with a far more predictable bunch when Miss World Phil comes along. But the important thing is crowning the girl with the best chances and its a good thing that in the last 6 years of MWP’s existence, its titleholders can never be accused of being outright Binibini leftovers.
What should be someone’s loss should still to the Philippine’s advantage, be its gain.
