This is the cherry on top of the sundae. The Official Announcement from Miss Universe, if you will.

Our favorite beauty pageant will definitely be on December 20 at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Start booking your flights. Begin searching for the best hotel rates. Because the lowest-priced ones will run out very soon.

And Miss Universe Philippines 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach must really be ecstatic by now.

  2. I sure hope you do not mean that our past strong reps did not deserve their placement if not for the Trump card.

    I still think that Trump or no-Trump, Venus’ placement all the way to this year with Pia are (I am claiming it) deserving. Our MU reps have always been crown-ready and, because we somehow have mastered the MU formula, the streak will remain true to many more years to come…Unless IMG drastically changes the format of the pageant.

    • I agree, Venus based on beauty and pageantry prior to her not so popular Q&A, she was a cut above the rest of our representatives after Miriam Quiambao…. Her walk alone is far ahead Gionna, Jennifer, Bianca, and so on… And her body proportions are spectacular!

  3. I actually agree with you. I normally don’t pay attention to names as it should not be a consideration, but I think Pia Alonzo carries more heft.

  4. I’m so glad to hear that the pageant’s broadcasting partnership is now with FOX and out of that unholy NBC-Telemundo alliance. Perhaps we’ll see more diversity in the first group of semifinalists. And at least the new owners decided to keep Paula Shugart as President — a wise move on their part.

      Meanwhile, Fox’s biggest viewer demographic is South East Asia…

    Tip: As folks who went last time know, the buffet at Planet is where the contestants go for late dinner. I think after 10pm is when they start to come down, per the Pinoys that worked there. A super-dedicated friend ate late and got to meet a lot of the girls, including Janine.

    We’ve been lucky in Las Vegas the past two editions it hosted Miss U… Dama ko it’ll be the same this year…

    Saka Paula Shugart pa rin pala ang MUO president…good news ito para sa atin!

    Ang lakas na ng kutob ko na at the very least nasa top 10 na naman tayo… Mai-imbudo na naman ang mga kapit balay.

  20. It’s best to stay at planet Hollywood where it’s going to happen. You’ll have the opportunity to see the candidates to walk right in front of you.. The night before the finals. During the contest proper, you won’t see anything much because even the most expensive tickets are too far away from the stage.

    • That’s true! I did that in 2012 and you get to see the contestants at the buffet bar for breakfast and at the casino elevators throughout the day for their tapings! Twas a great experience being there!

    A new chapter for Miss Universe on FOX. New network, new owners and hopefully a nee philosophy and a new selection process where a top 15 will NOT consist of 10 Latinas just to appease Telemundo and the Spanish speaking market.

    I hope for the best for everyone involved. Let’s go PIA.

    • I know! sana even ang pagpili nila. OR kung di talag maiiwasan na malalakas ang latinas, sana yung deserving lang talaga. And It’s time for the asian delegates to dominate naman.

  23. Thank God! The waiting is over. The best thing about the venue is that it is easier to get booking, room and airfare from around the world. It’s about the same time as the 2012 edition. Not much tourists around this time. And just like that year, many Filipinos will descend into Vegas to watch the pageant and support Pia. My friends and I are planning our trip right now. I hope to see you there Tito Norms!

      Vegas is the best city for Pinay queens hands down. Pero cuidado con Mexico. Sin City is even friendlier to our amigos (both of their winners crowned there).

      Anyway, Pia Papaya will have our cheers til the end!!!

      • Off si Inday haha plus it’s raining cat and dogs in NY so I have all the time catching up on all beauty pageant news. The next two months will be hectic for all of us with all the pageants dropping one after another. Exciting times! Las Vegas beckons and I’m sure this will be a better venue than the pitiful Doral. Also we can party every night right there on the Strip. I’ll be with my usual friends but of course we will get to meet other Pinoys who are as enthusiastic as everyone is. Baka mas mahirap mahagilap si Jonas et al sa Vegas kesa sa Doral na walang buhay haha.
