  1. I don’t understand the “hate” thrown at Jonas/Aces & Queens when everyone should be angry at BPCI for alleged favoritism of their girls over that from other camps. MSA should be made aware of this unfair treatment, not Jonas nor Rodgil. I’m sure the camps are training these girls for free and get nothing in return when their bets win. Can we just be thankful for their dedication and tireless efforts to make the Philippines proud? When our girls compete internationally, it’s not Jonas vs Rodgil but Philippines vs the rest of the world. I can’t comprehend why do we have to pull each other down when we’ve almost reached the apex? Sorry for pontificating, but it’s really sad to read these comments when we’re supposed to celebrate Bea’s victory and KF’s contribution.

  2. Can’t people just be proud of what our queens accomplished and acknowledge the beauty camps that’s been passionately training and scouting for potential beauty queens, instead of whining about runner up placements or comparing KF and A&Q? Honestly, whether anyone of you finds Mama J arrogant compared to Mama Rodgil, can’t we just all be thankful at least to them and avoid all these kinds of negativity? Without them, there will be no crowns or runner up placements in MU. If not for A&Q, there will be no Venus Raj who ended our MU drought…

Before when our country doesn’t have the sash factor yet, people will usually just be happy with a slot of semis, what’s happening to the people here? It’s indeed human nature to want more than what we currently have.. :\ Why so demanding all of a sudden? Do you guys even know how things work behind the scenes in the pageant industry? And are you one of the people who are contributing to the said industry?

Bottomline is, we should be happy of our country’s winning streak and be thankful to both beauty camps.. Period. No camp wars or no shoulda, woulda, coulda’s or BC comparisons please.

    • Bravo! Well said! TOTALLY agree with everything you said.

    • Thanks people. I just had to say what I posted earlier as reading all these negative posts is just too annoying and reminds me so much of the typical crab mentality too.

Thanks and hello kuya Philip! Hope all is well with you and your family.

      • Sheena… all is fine now or at least better than what it was when I arrived home. All that matters is they’re safe and healthy and still have a roof and food. Thank God for His blessings! Hope all is well with you and yours.

I so agree with all you’ve written. However, I see the Drama Queens are still at it and giving plenty of thumbs down. Oh well… thank God for the Filipinos who do stand behind the winning queens even if they were not the ones they were rooting for during the pageant.

      • Kuya Philip, From someone who has lived abroad I think you should be familiar on the tendencies of some of our kababayans 😛 Deadma to those who are going on a thumbs down frenzy. Mga guilty ang mga yan. Glad to hear your family’s doing good! 🙂 God is indeed good.

    • Girl, your right! Sana kasi mag join forces nalang mga beauty camp… And get rid of Barraza!

      • Jonas and Rodgil and John are all friends. They may not be bosom buddies, but the competition in between is healthy.

      • Tita Norms, I remember you mentioned something like this in one of your posts I think right after BBP2013. I hope people will just stop making malicious comments about them and just celebrate our country’s victory this year.

  3. Nakakatuwa, ang dami nilang alam, why don’t you ask them for press conference at sabihin nyo ang grievances nyo ng harapan? Hays… Basta ako, proud ako sa mga girls natin from Mutya, Megan, Ara and Bea…Period..

  5. irregardless of which beauty camp our Binibining Pilipinas queens and Miss World Philippines queen came from WE have one belief that these beauty camps were tirelessly training our queens and getting in shape for the best fighting form and that’s “For the Philippines”. For the Love of God and love of our country, can we all just unite and be kind to each other. Placing runner up in Miss Universe is already a milestone achievement, for I know most of the participating rep in any country would kill for that, be thankful, Philippines regained its respect and glory in the world of beauty pageantry, truly Philippines is blessed and lucky we have Aces & Queens, Kagandahang Flores, John Dela Vega, R-L angels, Jonty Martinez, and the un named beauty scouts in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao….. Peace and Love to all the beauty camps!

  6. and suddenly Jonas has become an object of indignation… how the tides have turned! tsk tsk

  7. tito norms, thank you for featuring KF. You are a real journalist talaga. 🙂

Anyway, out of topic, will you be posting updates on the applicants for BBP 2014? Are there any yet?

    • You’re welcome. And as for the applicants, most of the anticipated ones will beat the buzzer and submit their applications on the last day (Dec 30), unless BPCI extends the deadline once again. 😉

  8. Kung hindi donald trump ang miss universe ngyon malamang matagal na tau ngka crown sa miss u possible pa nga na makuha ni janine un or si shamcey eh kaso mas like ni donald trump ang mga madaling manyakin na venezuelan or south american beauties….ang miss U ngyon more on politics na talaga….

    • @Angelo Reyes

      Ok.. according to my research..

Bianca is beautiful but very unqueenly in voice, actions and gestures and yet she won BBP-Universe. According to rumors, she was a victim of politics in BBP being a legacy of her aunt whos a former Binibini.. Her pictures during MU rehearsals was all over the net.. She didn’t have her make-up on.. She was wearing slippers with her sunday dress.. (btw, those pics were published on Inquirer prior to the coronation night.) And on the Prelims, Barraza’s shower curtain with giant ribbons sealed her fate. Did she try hard enough? Did she want to win? Did she have sufficient trainning?

Hehehe. It is good that we are contented w the runner up MU placements. That is how progress blossom.

  9. Korek!!! Nakaksawa na maging runner-up. yung hype na hype ang sambayanang Pilipinas tapos tadaaaaa!!!!… runner up na naman! Yes runner up is better than clapper pero susmaryosep naman umay na umay na tayo kaka-address ng Miss Universe Runner-Up sa mga pinapadala dun. hindi ba puede MiSs UNiverse na talaga?!! Pagpahingahin na si Jonas. it’s rodgil’s time to shine!!!!

    • Relax… It didnt always come this easy… For 10 years, we were shut out of the semis…. Let’s count our blessings and be hopeful for the best.

A runner up finish is still a victory. We should rejoice in them just as well.

      • Oh yes… RUp is a blessing in itself. All we are saying is we need to strive to get the MU crown after 40yrs. It is really time. Janine and Ara had what it takes.. kontinf tyga pa. Malapit na to. Hehe

  11. I can say both camps are just doing it with passion in pageantry…..it just so happen that a&q camp always get the bb.universe title thesedays and kf always get the BB.international title ….if u remember that bianca manalo is under KF camp in 2009…i think we should appreciate both camps for honning modern filipinas in pageantry arena…without these 2camps hindi gaganda ang competition sa binibini pa lng kaya ganon nlng tau ka proud when it comes sa international pageants kasi mas nagiging prepared na sila and competitive…..kung ang venezuela may school for beauty queens tau nman may camps….im sure soon dadami pa ang mga camps at mas lalong magiging competitive ang ph pageantry….

  12. I’m so excited for KF team!!! Though I’m still not happy with BPCI bias hope from now the playing field will be level!

  13. I am glad that you have made this distinction for Kagandahang Flores, Norman. Runner-up is good but still not good enough. I hope Aces and Queens will up their game and focus more on building up real absolute confidence, candidness, and agreeableness in their wards. Pinays tend to be uptight. There is still a hint of our controlling, conservative, and straight-shooting ways which showed in Shamcey Supsup and Ara Arida’s answers. We don’t have to compromise our beliefs, we just have to ease in the liberated media into ours without them knowing. But that is too complicated a proposition and a tough skill to acquire. Whatever happened to the Pinoy’s trademark of euphemism, sugar-coating, and happy-go-lucky ways? 😉

  14. Get ready to raise all your eyebrows for I will honour KAGANDAHANG FLORES as the most elite of all the beauty training camps in the country. To me they have already proven their true worth and the other hasn’t. Yes, Megan Young attended their trainings but she does not need that much from them because the winning assets are built-in and practically polished because of her showbiz exposure. I hope someone from that camp reads this and take it as a challenge. I want a Miss Universe crown and a back-to-back win for Miss World in 2014. I would not accept their trademark runner-up win again. AND I am serious!!!

    • Hi Kuya Norms, can you feature the “Kagandahang Flores” staff, beginnings, and achievements, oh do include the beauty queens they trained as well when you have a chance?
      @Dexter Co
      Fearless forecaster in the making….

      • I should have done that months back, but couldn’t complete all the info I needed from Rodgil. Hopefully in the coming weeks. 😉

      • Growing up in the western world made me fearless and down-to-earth when it comes to expressing what I feel. 😉

      • para ka lang nag-order sa mcdo. you don’t know what those trainers go through to help the girls prepare! ikaw na lang kaya mag-train sa mga kandidata? i’m sure marunong ka.

    • You wouldn’t accept their “trademark runner-up win again”? What are you going to do about it, if it happens again in 2014? Exert your power and influence over at BPCI? Get real.

      • I agree with you, Sashing! I believe we need to be thankful with our achievements because at the end of the day, it is God who is in control. Merry Christmas, everyone.

      • Agree, I dont understand where all the negativity of these people are coming from… Everyone is so demanding, all of a sudden. Its not like they’ve contributed anything to the victories of our girls.

        World peace!

      • Obviously you don’t know how to understand between lines, otherwise, you will not dare respond to this comment. Your English comprehension is so below sea level. LOL.

      • “Your English comprehension is so below sea level. LOL.”

This from somebody who typed “elete” instead of “elite” in a previous comment. Ha!
