So it is with joy that Miss World Philippines Megan Young made it to the finals of the said award. It only goes to show that our rep does not only do the talk. She also commits to action and does something to ease the pain of her countrymen any which way she can. If I’m not mistaken, her pitch for the honor – aside from the PGH (Philippine General Hospital) charities of MWP – has something to do with the flood relief efforts, particularly in the province of Bulacan which suffered during the non-stop onslaught of storms/typhoons and high water just last month and the current.
While some might say that helping victims of the flood pales in comparison to feeding the hungry or building shelter for the homeless, it is one devastating natural occurence most peculiar to the Philippines that cannot be ignored. And what is far more important than lazing around doing nothing is to actually go to the affected places, wade into knee-deep water and distribute relief goods. Prior to that, she also joined the telethons of the TV networks to raise donations for the same.
Indeed, there is a purpose in Megan Young’s life. And it comes from the heart. 😉
P.S. For additional information about Megan’s good deeds, please refer to the reply of one of our regulars, Ernest Reyes, below. 🙂
Andyan na naman si Indonesia! I smell politics*** sana Top Model and designer award makuha ni Megan! Pag nanalo siya bilang Miss World magpapa pizza ako sa office!
I also forgot to add Ms. Earth (1) 2008. Wish the Philippines Good Luck
Actually Mole it will be six depending if you’re following Missosology (Miss Universe, World, International, Earth) Global Beauties(Miss Universe, World, International, Supranational, Tourism Queen International) As of now here’s how the Philippines stand: Ms. Universe (2) 1969, 1973; Miss International (4) 1964, 1970, 1979, 2005; Miss Tourism Queen Int’l. (1) 2006; Miss Supranational (1) 2013 and finally the grand daddy of all if Philippines wins Miss World 2013 the Philippines is the only country in the planet to have won all Grand slam in both Global Beauties or Missosology. Here’s an added facts for you guys, Venezuela has never won Ms. Tourism Queen Int’l or Ms. Supranational; United States has never won Ms. Earth, Ms. Supranational, Ms. Tourism Queen Int’l.; Brazil has never won Ms. Supranational or Ms. Tourism Queen Int’l.; India has never won Ms. International or Ms. Supranational. I hoped this help you guys a lot. Please, keep voting let us make this happen.
Yeah correct, but I just mention the big 4 ,,, universe, international, earth hopefully ms.world!
Love the details! 🙂
Don’t forget Miss International Queen 2012! Hahaha
Ms. Indonesia is another consistent performer aside from Megan, Elena, and Marine.
Host country’s rep shouldn’t be counted IMO. You know, “politics” 🙂
Yes Sheena, she can make it to the finals of fast track events. But isn’t making it to the finals of Beach Beauty taking it(favoritism) too far.
Johnny, exactamiento! Imagine they had top 11 for the beach beauty, claiming there was a “tie”. Ho-hum.
Aside from the above mentioned good deeds of Mareng Megan, she was also the mediator between me and Mutya regarding the loans and pawned carabao and nipa hut.
If not only for Megan , I doubt if I and Mutya will have a peaceful covenant. And now, Mutya is fully paid, thanks to Megan.
Megan is also good enough to endorse my Daing and Laing business, since then, my sales went up to P5k weekly from P50 weekly, such an effective endorser.
Last 2012 she’s one of the few celebrities chosen by president Aquino to become peace ambassador. Together with mikael daze and others. Oh dear lord she got what it takes!
Kapag nagkataon we are the only country on the planet earth nakuha ang big 4 crown!!
Sa sports di xa nakapasok. And how sad miss Spain did it. And did it again sa beauty with a purpose. But Go megan!!!!
Group effort naman kase yung sports track, nagkataon lang kasama sa winning group si spain..

Sayang naman ang pagiging Pilipino nya kung hindi sya manalo dito!.
She has to win that MULTIMEDIA AWARD!
Like lang ng like, share lang ng share at tweet lang ng tweet!!!!
Closer, if the multimedia award is based on “likes”, Thailand and India are leading. But shouldn’t be the basis of this one is the content itself? I’d say she has a very big chance of winning this one of the basisof winning this award is content 🙂
Whatever is their criteria, I just want Megan to win it so badly!
I don’t know how much more I could stress that she truly deserves to win!!!
Kahit hanggang dito sa ibayong dagat, feel na feel ko ang energy and enthusiasm mo for her to win 🙂
Ipagdasal na rin sa lahat ng santo na ang korona na mapunta kay Megan. Megan FTW! 🙂
I felt teary eyed last month when a few days after her win as Miss World- Philippines..
Instead of preparing for her trip to Indonesia, she really braved her way to help prepare and distribute relief goods to flood victims during the typhoon..
I doubt if any of the other contenders could do the same.
I don’t know anyone more selfless than that.
She is the most deserving MW candidate for that award!..
Just give Megan Young the blue crown and get this over with!
Norman, aside from all of that Megan is also involved with youth education. In several of her interviews she has stressed that education is one of the advocacy she has been involved with even prior to joining Miss World Philippines. Don’t forget also she’s a Kapamilya talent, so that means shes been involved two of the biggest charities for ABS-CBN which are Sagip Kapamilya and Bantay Bata. This makes Megan ahead from the rest, because she is involved with not only one but several big charitable organization. This is the reason why she beat a lot of them that also had a strong advocacy. I won’t be surprise if she takes it all. She will even surpass Ms. Ruais achievements. She’s also a contender for the Multimedia award. If you have seen her worked that she put in it I won’t be surprise if she take that also. I have a gut feeling she will placed high in the Beach Sarong fast track. A top five finish or take it all. I’m having chill in my spine, and believe me Norman I can feel victory here. As I said before I have predicted the last 4 Miss World, and this year it is even stronger than ever, Megan is Ms. World 2013. That’s my final prediction, and it won’t change until the coronation night on Sept 28, 2013.
Thanks for the added infos, Ernest. 😉
