Sunday Specials: The State of Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere

At the moment, Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere is back in Paris for a quick break from the hectic life she has been living in New York City. Days and nights have never been busier for the lovely French woman so reconnecting with her homeland is always welcome.

For starters, let us watch her first photoshoot with photographer Bruce Bernard in the video below.

So consider this kind of a State of the (Miss) Universe post. Almost four months from the day she won the 65th Miss Universe crown, has Iris done wonders to the brand? Is she keeping pace with the big strides her predecessor Pia Wurtzbach had accomplished at right about the same period last year? Or has it reached a lull in terms of sustained popularity? There is more to the title than quick public appearances and glam pictorials, as we know by now. Is WME/IMG happy with how things are moving?

  1. Her carefree and easy-warm, unpretentious, and down-to -earth nature reminds me of her compatriot, Laetitia Casta.

    Hinay-hinay lang at kahit kelan kahit ano pa ang iyong tinuran, hindi mo na mayuyurakan na si PIA ALONZO WURTZBACH ang mag-uwi ng pangatlong korona para sa inang bayan!

    Hindi problema ni PIA kung saan-saan at kung anu-ano ang kanyang ginawa.
    Ipukol mo ang hinaing mo sa MUO IMG. Sila ang nag talaga kung ano at saan si PIA paroroon!!!!!!

    • I am proud of Nicole Cordoves that she will take duty that was Lees Garcia. Wala nang trabaho si Merlat na Lees Garcia.

  4. To be honest wala namang ginawa si Pia na talagang remarkable during her reign maliban lang sa mga selfie nila ng bf nya sa kama nya na binabayaran ng MUO. Megan Young’s reign at MW was more remarkable.

      • I don’t really care kahit isang million pa ang thumbs up mo basta para sa akin wala talagang katuturan ang reign nya. Maybe I’m wrong, hence please help me remember those by enumerating them here. If you can’t then those thumbs down are just delusional that Pia is the best MU ever. She won Miss Universe that’s it. Thanks to the fact that a Paula was eyeing the Philippines to be the next host when she won.

  6. so lahat pala ng susunod na miss u winners should measure up to pia , bat di na lang ibalik sa kanya corona at wag na magpa contest, sya na lang forever. yes she won ms. U and thats great especially for pageant crazed PH, alam mo naman tayong pinoy , dahil lang nanalo its like she cant do no wrong, and we love to exaggerate. I agree with the first post other ms.u winners are just as inspirational as her. ( lara dutta, riyo mori, dayana mendoza) iris I really like, her crowning gave me goosebumps, so unassuming 🙂

  7. Well, sa totoo lang natatawa ako everytime na minimention ang Pia Wurtzbach when judging someone who is involved in beauty pageantry. Di kaya masyadong pinagmamayabang lang ng mga Pilipino si Pia dahil sa title? Sa totoo lang i dont see any remarkable activities na ginawa ni Pia other than winning the title not in a traditional way as she told. Kylie has better initiative.

    • No less than the President of MUO, Paula Shugart, said that she was super proud of what Pia has done to the organization. She traveled to Ecuador to help the earthquake victims, talked to students in Canada about bullying, became a spokesperson for HIV/AIDS and helped a yolanda-hit village in Coron with Cordaid. If Pia’s boss was happy with her “remarkable activities”, isn’t that enough already for us to be happy for her too?

      Besides, Pia has given so much pride and happiness to the Filipinos for bringing back the most covered crown. That alone is enough reason for us to be proud of her.

      • Oh my God Ryan alangan namang sasabihin ni Paula on live tv na di sya proud kay Pia hellloooo common sense. Tell me one remarkable achievement of Pia during her reign? Did she change even a single life? NO right?

      • @jeremi your burden of proving that Pia was not able to change even a single life is as heavy as everyone else’s burden of proving that she did.

      • For sure, isa yan si bakla sa nagsisigaw when Pia was called as part of the top3 of Miss Universe. I remember a whole lot of Pinoys being proud of what Pia has done. And now, konting kibot makalait kay Pia kala mo walang nagawa si Lia

    • Well, sa totoo lang nakakatawa na may nag rereact kapag laging minemention si pia. kahit kapag maganda naman pakinggan o basahin ang article eh sobra sobra ang react.
