Below is a quick Q&A with Miss Progress Philippines 2021 Beatriz “Zea” Awatin which she answered during the meet-and-greet with the pageant media yesterday at Alex III.
1) With national elections coming in 2022, what kind of a President do Filipinos really need to achieve solid #Progress?
“We need a compassionate leader whose platforms are in line with the needs of his people, someone who has genuine intention for the betterment of the nation and a leader who speaks the truth and who understands the importance of integrity
After all, democracy was made not for the government officials but for the people who believe that their rights are greatly secured with the elected leaders. The only way to achieve it is, if we choose a leader with compassion, genuine intentions and integrity.”
2) What is your platform/advocacy for Miss Progress International and why is it so important to you?
“Ever since I was young, I was already exposed to different communities that are involved with rights to education. Since then, I firmly believe that it will help a certain community to achieve progress.
As your Miss Progress Philippines 2021, I emphasize the importance of Human Rights because knowing your in-depth rights will help you know more about the other fields related in the pageant, like Health and Environment. Moreover, Human rights is one of the underlying issues in the Philippines so I hope my platform could inspire people to know their rights and use the democracy that was given to us.”
3) If you can choose only one of the two to keep, which would it be and why: Privacy or Security?
“It depends.
In terms of relationships, I will choose security.
Feeling secured with someone by their assurance, acts of love, support and having a sense of pride with them contributes to you well being and better than being private with no efforts nor having pride of having you.
In terms of finances or financial status, I’d rather stay low key and private than to be flashy. I’m a simple person. I don’t need to show the world how much I earn nor define a certain status.”
4) If people really learn from mistakes, why are people afraid of making them?
“Because people are afraid of what others say. They are too attached to pleasing people that they forgot to know their core and aspirations in life.”
5) How can you be a social media inspiration during these times when virtual presence has become more important to the world?
“By creating a content that talks about my advocacy, by being honest with who i am and what I am not and by showing a genuine interest to this journey.”
Good luck in Miss Progress International 2021, Zea!
