Filipinos have often looked at Thais as some sort of blood brothers (or sisters) in the Southeast Asian region. So it no longer comes as a surprise that Miss Thailand World 2014 can easily pass off as a Pinay given her facial features and over-all aura.

23 year-old Maeya Nonthawan Thongleng from Sura Thani was named Thailand’s representative to Miss World 2014 after the culmination of the national pageant at the Bangkok Convention Centre inside Central Plaza Ladprao. Prior to winning the crown, she was a constant participant in modeling competitions like Asian Supermodel Thailand 2010 and Thai Supermodel 2007. She stands 175 cm. and is an Aviation student of Stamford University who can speak English with a British accent.

As far as talent is concerned, what can she bring to the table for the big event in London? Well, Maeya can sing and walk the runway like a real pro. But outside of pageantry, she plays golf.

  6. Anong nakain ng Miss World Thailand judges at morena at may tan ang pinanalo nila? As they ALWAYS choose a Chinita, Tisay or maputi g Artistahin type!

    • Jacky, the Thai franchise holder of Miss World wants to go against the usual grain of pageant winners, I believe. He wants to have a winner who actually has the Miss Universe peg all over, but not necessarily of mixed-race descent.

  7. Umm… I think thailand has a stunning candidate this year. She should actually be in miss universe and their miss u rep should be miss world. I think we should watch out this girl. she’s a winner

  8. She’s gorgeous. I hope she places high in Miss World. Breath of fresh air if she eventually wins it. Of course our rep, whoever she is, still gets my full support:)
