My Dozen Desirables of Mr. World 2014

mrworldlogo1 Coming up with a Top 12 – let alone a Top 10 – can be quite a tricky arrangement to make with the candidates of Mr. World 2014.

For one, there will definitely be just a Top 10 based on past competitions. And in that eventual group, half of the number will be the Special Award winners in fast-track segments- Extreme Challenge, Sports, Talent, Fashion & Style and Multimedia. So for now, Mr. Moldova Valeriu Gutu is already a lock for one of the spots after topping the first-concluded event.

As for Sports, my hunch is that Mr. Bahamas DeVaughn Gow might end up scoring more points than the rest. In Talent, it could be a battle between Mr. Netherlands Demian Overduijn and Mr. England Jordan Williams. Fashion & Style-wise, Mr. Mexico Jose Pablo Minor and Mr. Philippines John Spainhour could be in the final mix, just as they are also vying to nail the Multimedia pennant along with Mr. India Prateek Jain. Hence, the inclusions of the aforementioned names are relatively justified from where I stand.

The remaining slots are almost fair game for everyone else. I would give extra consideration, though, to Mr. Peru Diego Conroy as he has shown more grit and fighting spirit, not to mention killer looks that will never go unnoticed.

And so, who are we left with to add as possible major contenders? I would place my bets on the refreshing Mr. Denmark Nicklas Pedersen, the magnetic Mr. Argentina Jose Ferrer Santillan and the traditionally handsome Mr. Spain Jose Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Ros. And why not throw in Thibault Marchand of France for good measure?

That’s already a dozen. I gave myself two extra spaces because the line-up is giving me a mild headache on who to and not to include in my predictions. But if you ask me for a more definitive Top 3 forecast, my guess is that three continents will be represented.

Could Mr. World 2014 be the Dancing Biologist from the Netherlands, the Sweet-faced Sniper from the Philippines or the Kickass Football Hottie from Peru?

  1. By the way Norman i haven’t heard your stand on Spainhour fate. What should we learn on this pageant? Would this warn the Philippine supporters to be me more tapered and modest? And to those supporters who are posting uneducated things in the internet, please don’t pull down our representatives by posting nasty things in the web.

  7. My top 3 Netherlands winner. Moldova 1st u. spain 2nd. top 10 england,india,peru,india,denmark,argentina.,phils. Ang gwapo ni Mr Netherlands.

  8. I think Denmark will pull a surprise. He gives me this friendly, accommodating vibe, but my bet are either Netherlands or Philippines.

  9. I bet my cards on Demian! At 5’10” although not the tallest candidate he has the cool next door guy vibe with a great talent to showcase the pageant audience and the world. Julia will not have a problem sending this guy to anywhere as he speaks English and just like Megan he can manage to present video diaries. Mr Spainhour is a god in the male contest but I think his win might be unfavorable since we already gave queen Megan. Just my 2 cents

Buong competition ay ibinahagi niya sa atin kung gaano kasarap ang kanyang saging na saba. Infernezzz deserve niya ang award dahil isa siya sa pinakawafung contestant.   15. Great Final Top 12 Tito Norms! I’ll exclude India and France, and replace England with Wales for my Final Top 10. And my Top 3 forecast are: Philippines, Moldova, and Peru 🙂
