In light of Sid Lucero’s recent wins at the 2011 Urian and Golden Screen (Enpress) Awards as Best Actor for his sterling performance as a gay man in Adolf Alix’s “Muli” (The Affair), I am posting the full trailer of the movie…..just because I still have yet to get hold of the film’s DVD version up to now! Honest! I’ve been bugging my supplier to no end and visiting all Odyssey outlets in hopes of finally buying one.
Sid Lucero receiving his 2nd Urian Best Actor trophy, this time for the movie "Muli".

Also, my first blog about the indie film has been consistently one of the top searches here so I’m just paying some mini-tribute in a way.
I’m really keeping my fingers crossed that I get my long-awaited copy within the next few weeks. 😉
There will be a special double feature screening of Adolf Alix’s Muli (with the controversial intimate scenes of Cogie Domingo & Sid Lucero) and Joven Tan’s Magdamag (with another controversial scene from actress Rita Avila & Edgar Allan Guzman) this coming Friday, August 13 at the Cine Adarna of the UP Film Center. Tickets are discounted if you’ll watch both flicks.
Contact the numbers above or show up for the scheduled screening on Friday! 😉

Gay indie films have flooded the Philippines for quite some time now, and for a good business reason: to insure decent profits. As a result, mediocre outputs have been released one after another chasing quick bucks. Fortunately, one gets to stumble upon a few of the genre that stands out with technical polish, competent acting and engaging screenplay. One such flick is “Muli” (English title: The Affair/or if you literally translate the word, it should be “Again”). Directed by noteworthy indie film director Adolf Alix, Jr. (“Donsol”, “Daybreak”, “Adela” and “Aurora”), the plot is based on the 2007 Palanca Award-Winning Screenplay of Jerry Gracio that delves on the love story between an underground activist/inn keeper and a lawyer in Baguio City within which the complexities, joys and tragedies render proof to the shining power of love.
Muli is from MJM Productions. It stars Sid Lucero and the comebacking Cogie Domingo playing the gay couple. They are ably supported by Marco Alcaraz, Paolo Rivero, Max Eigenmann, Evelyn Vargas, Rocky Salumbides, Angeli Bayani, and introducing Ardie Bascara.
Watch out for the movie’s limited release anytime soon. Meanwhile, you can check out the movie’s special screening at the ongoing Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival. 😉
