PS. I need to catch up on sleep now before I blog about my thoughts on the results
The five Miss Universe 2013 delegates who got the highest placements in our Top Picks Poll.
Miss Philippines Ariella Arida: our readers’ #1 pick to win MU2013.
The final results are in.
After a total of 99,128 votes casted, Miss Philippines Ariella Arida was voted by this blog’s readers as the top pick to win Miss Universe 2013 this coming Saturday in Moscow.
Ariella cornered 17.85% of the votes – equivalent to 17,691 – to pull away from 2nd placer Yaritza Reyes of the Dominican Republic who managed 13,195 (13.26%). A distant 3rd is Indonesia’s Whulandary Herman (9,166), followed by Monic Perez of Puerto Rico in 4th (8,924) and Jennifer Ondo of Gabon (7,858) rounding up the Top 5.
What are the chances of these poll results reflecting the actual outcome? Will the first four placers at least penetrate the magic circle? And will your #1 choice eventually get to wear the Diamond Nexus Lab crown with a surprise something else that will be unveiled on finals night?
The 10 ladies plus Olivia Culpo who were invited to the Nobu Moscow gig
Best of friends Ariella Arida and Patricia Rodriguez are part of the Nobu Moscow invite.
Our girl in Moscow has scored another gig. And this one’s big. Together with Olivia Culpo and the delegates of Peru, Japan, Russia, Czech Republic, Spain, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Ukraine and France, they will attend the Nobu Moscow Demo Show on November 6- a day after the Preliminaries.
And why, you might ask, the event is important? Internationally-renowned Chef Nobu happens to be one of the judges for finals night on November 9. And being there is as important as getting a crucial face-to-face encounter. No need to do the math here.
Ariella is definitely getting the good breaks! 🙂
P.S. In addition, our girl is one of the 12 delegates who will appear in Russian singer Emin’s new music video. 😉
Miss Dominican Republic Yaritza Reyes after the fall.
You must have seen the video so many times that you can mimic the bad fall in a breeze. And you know that something like this can score precious points in the competition. However, I doubt it very much that Miss Dominican Republic Yaritza Reyes will benefit a lot from the same, unlike the stage slip that happened to Miriam Quiambao last 1999. This is not even the Preliminaries, but a typical Sunday sideshow inside a shopping mall.
And this brings me back to that weird stage. Why does it even have a triangular hole in the middle? A cat trap so devilishly designed to make anyone come out to the spotlight and be more conscious of avoiding the center than projecting? On the other hand, I know that the ladies are aware of that crazy pitfall contraption prior to the fashion show. Did Yaritza conveniently forget about it that instead of turning left or right, she went straight to the same?
Ok, I can’t say that I pity her. At least, she had the quick presence to bring herself back up. And fast. 😉
Our 3rd Top Picks Poll for Miss Universe Poll closed last night with three (3) more ladies automatically making it to our 4th and Final Top Picks Poll starting in just a few hours. Yaritza Reyes of Dominican Republic, Alexia Viruez of Bolivia and Guadalupe Gonzalez of Paraguay locked the Top 3 spots to secure their places in the list of 15 ladies who will vie for your votes in the big one.
Below is a screenshot of how the votes stacked up for the ten highest.
The Top 10 Vote Getters
Together with six (6) others – Ara Arida, Chalita Yaemwannang, Whulandary Herman, Jennifer Ondo, Olivia Wells and Erin Brady – the three above will form the initial line-up for our final poll. The remaining spots will be decided upon by your blogger based on hype/popularity and over-all impact so far.
Watch out for the next poll! 🙂
P.S. I may exercise the option to add one or two names to the 15 ladies later depending on how their arrival and participation in Moscow unfold. 😉
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
