A take from Win Wyn’s latest campaign photoshoot

Not much of an answer for me to move on really.
But honestly, I took it as something that could only muddle-up her present showbiz projects and related plans. I know for a fact that she is all set to be part of the series “Beauty Queens” (right photo below) which will soon be seen over the streaming platform of ABS-CBN, iWant. In this program, she will be starring with Gloria Diáz, Maxine Medina and more.
I know this former Reina Hispanoamericana titleholder to give her 101% in any endeavor she commits herself into. Now if returning to national pageantry is going to entail sacrifices that will compromise matters she has already signed up for in recent months, then I reckon that she will not be too keen about the possibility – unless some twist of fate happens between now and the end of the month to pave the way.
Binibini Watch List 2019:
Win-Wyn Marquez
Is she finally re-joining this year? Recent developments have shown pageant followers that Win-Wyn is seriously considering another try in the nationals. There are big risks involved – considering that she already won Reina Hispanoamericana last 2017 and has starred in two movies where she played the leading lady. Is she really ready to take the second plunge? Is she eyeing just the Bb. Pilipinas Supranational title? Or is she looking at moving to the bigger crown out there?
If you ask me, I shall wait for her filing of application at BPCI first. If that happens, then the next blog about her should be clearer.
She originally planned to become a Bb. Pilipinas Queen first. But who would have thought that fate would bring her halfway around the world to Bolivia in South America as Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2017 and eventually establish pageant history as the first Filipina (and first Asian) to win the crown of Reina Hispanoamericana 2017.
Teresita Ssen “Win-Wyn” Marquez grew up in the world of local showbusiness and politics. Her parents – actor/comedian/former City Mayor Joey Marquez and actress Alma Moreno – eventually rubbed off the excitement of being in front of the camera to this exotic beauty whose dancing prowess and love for acting were put to good use when she became a TV celebrity with GMA-7.
But the performer in Win-Wyn wanted more than just the klieg lights and endless hours on the set. So when she finally decided to go the pageant route, it was just a matter of time before she would win a national title.
Sta. Cruz, Bolivia was an entirely unique experience for our Reina. Along with brother Yeoj, she withstood the city’s tropical savanna climate where “surazos” or the cold winds from the Argentine pampas make the temperature drop considerably.
She aggressively continued with her mission and unleashed the fiery performer in her to outclass all the Latinas in her way to be crowned as the best last year.
Win-wyn is now classified as a movie actress as well. She has also become a leading lady of comedian Vhong Navarro in the movie “Unli Life” and has just finished another one where she plays the prime character opposite actor Enzo Pineda.
Tonight (or tomorrow morning in Manila), she will crown her Reina Hispanoamericana successor and will return to Manila soon after to face more showbiz commitments. I offer now a toast to the woman who has helped in making the pageant brand become more popular in this part of the world and elsewhere. You have already started building your legacy, although I know there will be more to the current purpose in life that you are planning for yourself to achieve. Politics in a few years or so, perhaps?
Salud, Teresita Ssen!
Exactly one Sunday from this date, the finals of Miss World Philippines 2018 will culminate in the much-anticipated finals that will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena. And more than knowing who the next winners will be, I am curious to find out what new title/s will be announced (if the organizers are already at liberty to make them known on nationwide TV and social media).
As for the reigning titleholders, they have only one more week before handing away their national titles. Check out the interview below where GMA Network conducted a casual interview with Laura Lehmann, Win-Wyn Marquez, Cynthia Thomalla and Sophia Seneron.
When the new pictorial of Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 landed in my inbox (thanks to my dear friend Voltaire Tayag of Rappler), I immediately thought of using the popular phrase “…a rose by any other name…” from William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet as inspiration for this blog entry. This wonderful lady – who is always a joy to work with – decided to use Teresita as her public name right before, during and after her successful stint in Bolivia. But somehow, the showbiz affiliation is so strong that the popular nickname of “Win-Wyn” just could not be erased that easily from the minds of everyone.
Call her Teresita. Or call her Win-Wyn. She will always be our Reina Hispanoamericana 2017.
This latest photoshoot was a special one because our Queen herself had a say in every shot taken. The overall atmosphere, though, was fun and relaxed that everyone in the studio enjoyed doing all the layouts and did not mind the time at all.
Below are the other stills from the said shoot. Here are the credits first:

In the meantime, watch out for more about Win-Wyn. She should be South-America bound by the latter part of October, 3rd week.

Just this week, candidates for the upcoming Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 are being promoted in Bolivian newspapers to drum up interest in the international beauty pageant that will be hosted in La Paz with the finals set for November 4.
Our representative, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2017 Teresita “Win-Wyn” Marquez is one of them, and she is getting quite the healthy pre-arrival media exposure alongside the Latin entries. In fact, one article has already dubbed her as “La Reina de Asia”.
Methinks that there is solid anticipation for Win-Wyn, not only because she is from the Philippines, but also due to the fact that the contest has started to gain a lot of following ever since the franchise has been given to the Miss World Philippines Organization as one of its titles at stake.
For now, I’m just looking forward to the Official Send-off that should be scheduled anytime before or around mid-October.
There is always a palpable risk factor whenever a celebrity – whether minor or major – is dead-set on joining a national beauty pageant. Some would say that she has an unfair advantage over the relative unknowns. But others would quip that the advantage is more of a disadvantage because it gives the person no room to commit mistakes since our keen eyes will follow her every move to see if she deserves to even take part in one.
Enter Win-Wyn Marquez, daughter of erstwhile showbiz couple Alma Moreno and Joey Marquez. In a report posted by PEP.ph, she has signified her intention of joining Bb. Pilipinas two (2) years from now. I don’t see why not. The girl has inherited a good-enough height (5’7″) from her father plus features that are very Pinay to say the least. She is also a prolific dancer who trained in ballet and jazz – reason for her excellent stance and graceful moves.
This early, Win-Wyn has already signed up with Jonas Gaffud’s Mercator group to effectively become one of its female talents scheduled for further grooming and polish. It’s just a matter of time before she starts training with Aces & Queens. If she is indeed serious about becoming a beauty queen, then she has definitely decided on charting that route with the best.
I know that she is still a minor celebrity for now. But with the projects GMA-7 has lined up for Win-Wyn in the next 365 days, she could become a more familiar face by the time her future application form gets to be filled up. 😉
Note: While it is already a Monday here in Manila, it is still Sunday in other parts of the world. This is why I called this article a Post-Sunday Special. 😉
