On this last day of 2019, allow me to thank the shows of these TV networks that invited, guested, phone-patched and interviewed me for pageant-related discussions and special segment judging:
ABS-CBN: To Umagang KayGanda for the twin appearances for their #GandangMissU spots for Miss Universe 2019 and the month-long engagement for the #BoomBAEro2019 contest in cooperation with the Bureau of Fire Protection last summer;
GMA News: To Nelson Canlas for the phone-patch interview a day before the Miss Universe 2019 finals that was included in his report for the network’s evening news;
CNN Philippines: To #TheSource of program host Pinky Webb for having me as guest for the Miss Universe and Miss Universe Philippines topic earlier this month.
Maraming salamat po!
#HappyNewYear to all my readers, visitors, regulars and everyone who added to the discussions, banters and engagements in this blog.
Tonight in Atlanta, Georgia (and tomorrow morning here in Manila), the Miss Universe 2019 Preliminary Competition and National Costume Show will take place at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. This will be crucial as the ladies with the 19 highest combined preliminary scores will be chosen (the 20th being the online voting winner) as part of the first cut.
Let us keep on cheering and giving Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados our full support. Regardless of the different factors that most of you perceive as being obstacles on the road to a back-to-back win, let us unite behind her.
Meanwhile from my end, I just got off an interview with Nelson Canlas of GMA News for his news segment on Miss Universe 2019 and Miss Universe Philippines Gazini Christiana Jordi Ganados that will be aired tonight (in the entertainment news part) on 24 Oras and Saksi of GMA Network.
Catch my take on our Queen’s chances for a back-to-back.
And on Monday and Tuesday, I will be part of the discussion panel on Umagang Kay Ganda of ABS-CBN for the live broadcast of Miss Universe 2019 and the post-coronation analysis the day after.
The next few days will be full of excitement!

And below is the interview of one of UKG’s hosts (and Miss Universe 2013 3rd Runner-Up) Ara Arida with Rodgil Flores.

PS Patch Magtanong was unable to guest because she needed to go to the Supreme Court for her oath-taking ceremonies as a Lawyer. As for Samantha Bernardo, I wish I knew the reason behind her absence here. 😕
The Queens on UKG
The Queens on ANC Early Edition
Our newly-crowned Bb. Pilipinas 2018 Queens spent the entire morning today guesting on ABS-CBN’s “Umagang Kay Ganda” and ANC News Channel’s Early Edition.
Below are video clips from their appearances.
While 2017 was such a fulfilling year for pageant coverages at normannorman.com, Joy, Joseph and I are looking forward to a really busy 2018 starting this January with the Bb. Pilipinas 2018 submission of application deadline and screenings, the mission of Katarina Rodriguez in Hurghada, Egypt for Miss Intercontinental 2018, the mock pageants of both Aces & Queens and Kagandahang Flores and the announcement of Official Binibinis who will vie for the six titles at stake come March 18 at the Araneta Coliseum. This month, I will also personally cover the Kuyamis Festival in Cagayan de Oro City and the Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo with the crowning of their respective Queens.
The 50th Year of Mutya ng Pilipinas will also be worth looking forward to, as the organizers will have fifty (50) Official Candidates for the very first time.
But that’s getting far ahead of the year ahead. Here is a 30-second slideshow of what is in store for readers from January-June, 2018.
And in closing, allow me to share with you the specific segment of my TV interview guesting on CNN Philippines’ Rewind: 2017 Year-Ender Report with hosts Pinky Webb and Ruth Cabal plus the added bonus of having my favorite James Deakin in the panel.
This appearance completes a memorable 2017 that saw me on ABS-CBN’s Umagang Kay Ganda (twice) and TV Patrol, GMA Network’s 24 Oras and on CNN Philippines’s The Source and On the Record. 😊
Happy New Year to all!
Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago (front) and Bb. Pilipinas International 2014 Biance Guidotti during a lull in taping for their UKG guesting.
If you watched the morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda
” on ABS-CBN earlier in the day, you will have seen the final TV guesting of Miss International 2013 and Bb. Pilipinas International 2014 Mary Anne Bianca Guidotti before they leave for Tokyo, Japan this coming weekend.
The two beautiful ladies were actually in the segment where they exhibited some relevant beauty queen gym exercises that are helpful in maintaining their shapely bodies.
In the following days, they will be busy as Queen Bees. Bea Rose will start packing her luggages, while Bianca – whose competition wardrobe has already been prepared and packed by the BPCI team – will get ready for her (Strictly by Invitation) Official Send-Off at Araneta Center tomorrow afternoon.
P.S. Let’s have some good clean fun in the meantime. Try putting a caption on the big photo of Bea Rose and Bianca above. 😉
