The euphoria over Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach’s Miss Universe win has now calmed down somehow. So while pageant news has slowed down as expected, why don’t we re-watch videos of our five #1 victories in succession? Let’s start with Miss Universe 2015, then go to Angelia Ong for Miss Earth 2015, before clicking on Miss Globe 2015 with Ann Colis and Miss International Queen 2015 with Trixie Maristela. And finally, check out the crowning highlights of Miss Scuba International 2015 with Cindy Madumma. 🙂

It’s the day before Christmas here in Manila and what a roller coaster year in pageantry 2015 has been so far. The best part is that we had so many of the dizzying ups than the scary drops.
We got our most precious gift last Monday when Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach delivered the Miss Universe crown as promised. Just days earlier, Christi Lynn McGarry almost snatched the Miss Intercontinental title before Hillarie Parungao accomplished a difficult-to-crack Top 10 placement during Miss World. And even two weeks prior, Angelia Ong sizzled with a back-to-back win in Miss Earth, in addition to Rogelie Catacutan’s Top 20 spot in Miss Supranational. What a December this has really been.
And let’s not forget the other worth-citing ladies and gentlemen who started the ball rolling for us. There’s Parul Shah contributing a 3rd Runner-Up finish in Miss Grand International. And how can we miss Ann Colis with an explosive Miss Globe clincher, followed by a win by Trixie Maristela as Miss International Queen, a 1st Runner-Up notch for Daziella Gange in Miss Heritage and a Top 10 placement for Janicel Lubina in Miss International. Add to that the Top 10 inclusion of Reniel Villareal in Mister International, a Top 3 run for Judah Cohen in Mister Tourism International and a Top 6 rank in Mister Model International with Arcel Yambing. And just so you know as well, Cindy Madumma added a special side treat by nailing Miss Scuba International.
The year ain’t over, but Christmas is just a wink away. So let me greet all of my friends, readers, followers and loved ones a Very Merry Christmas! The sound of Jingle Bells and the chime of Silver Bells are ringing out loud for the Philippines. Let it snow! Or better yet, let’s all give Love on Christmas Day! It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Art unabashedly cried when Trixie Maristela won. Theirs is a love story that is both inspiring and heartwarming
When Trixie Maristela was crowned Miss International Queen 2015 last Friday night, her boyfriend Art Sta. Ana was the happiest, alongside the entire Philippines glued on the live streaming till way past midnight. And who wouldn’t be? Their love story served as the inspiration for the now popular book “He’s Dating The Transgender” which should now be appropriately re-titled “He’s (Now) Dating Miss International Queen 2015”.
Art cried in front of the newly-elected winner and posted the following Facebook update in his account:
That awkward moment when you’re more emotional than the winner. I cried. Yeah, I cried. Sobbed like a little kid. My heart was filled with joy. My baby @trixiemaristela is the queen. I knew she was going to win, but I was still so overwhelmed. I couldn’t be prouder. We’ve been talking about it for years, and I knew that the crown will be on her head. But it was actually happening, unfolding right before my very eyes. It was surreal. It was a dream. The tears, well they just flowed, couldn’t stop it. Each tear drop that fell was filled with pride, with love, with happiness. You are the queen now, and I your forever jester. I love you.
Art displaying the now popular book
You really can’t help but cheer for these two lovebirds. Their love for each other grows every single day. It can’t get any better than this.
In his own words, Art was quoted saying this:
“She steals my heart every second, every minute”
Miss International Queen 2015 Trixie Maristela of the Philippines
Trixie Maristela of the Philippines was crowned Miss International Queen 2015, defeating 26 other candidates to become our 2nd big winner of the title after Kevin Balot back in 2012. Her runners-up are Valeska Dominik Ferraz from Brazil and Sophida Sirawatununokul of Thailand.
Kudos as well to Michelle Binas and Francine Garcia for making it to the Top 10. That’s 3-for-3 in the semifinals for the Philippines.
