BTS shots of the Bb. Pilipinas 2018 titleholders during their photoshoot with Raymond Saldaña earlier in the day. Watch out for the final images soon!
This batch produced a Miss Universe in Catriona Gray, a Miss Intercontinental in Karen Gallman, and a near-win as 1st Runner-Up in Miss International in Ahtisa Manalo. We can also add a Top 10 Miss Supranational finish for Jehza Huelar and a Top 15 placement in The Miss Globe for Michele Gumabao. It saddens me, though, that Eva Patalinjug was questionably snubbed in Miss Grand International.
At any rate, what an impressive score card for this group of titleholders!
Earlier, Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2018 Michele Gumabao boarded her sponsored Philippine Airlines flight that will bring her to a connecting layover to Tirana, Albania where she will join the other candidates for The Miss Globe 2018 which has a shorter competition period that will culminate in the Finals on October 21 at The Amphitheater in Tirana.
Our best wishes go to Michele as she tries to score a second victory in the said pageant.
At the Novotel Manila Araneta Center Monet Ballroom earlier, the Official Sendoff for Bb. Pilipinas 2018 Queens Eva Patalinjug and Michele Gumabao was held with invited members of the media. The two lovelies’ spotlight event was graced with the presence of their “sisters” Catriona Gray, Ahtisa Manalo, Jehza Huelar and Karen Gallman who gave words of encouragement and endearment to the first duo in their group to start with their respective pageant missions abroad.
Both Eva and Michele will be departing for Yangon, Myanmar (host city & country for Miss Grand International 2018) and Tirana, Albania (host city and country for The Miss Globe 2018) by the end of September, respectively.
Our warm wishes of good luck to the two of you. Do the Philippines proud!
Michele’s pre-arrival photo for The Miss Globe 2018
Last Sunday, September 2, Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2018 Michele Gumabao celebrated her 26th Birthday (left photo with her loved ones. And she blew her birthday cake, I could only surmise what her wish was. Considering that The Miss Globe 2018 will be hosted in Tirana, Albania from October 9-20, the desire to win a 2nd crown in the pageant for the Philippines is likely to be on top of her head. Aside from good health and a healthy career in and out of pageantry, that is.
Michele is looking forward to wearing the Philippine sash in the international competition. And her preparations are reaching peak levels before her eventual sendoff to be hosted by BPCI in a few weeks’ time or so.
Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2018 Michele Gumabao would have easily qualified as member of the country’s Women’s Volleyball team currently competing in Jakarta-Palembang, Indonesia for the 18th Asian Games. But being one of our crowned national titleholders, she had to choose the responsibility of representing the Philippines on another front.
The Miss Globe 2018 will happen on Albania come October and the preparations are overlapping with the highly rigorous trainings for the Asiad. She simply where her priorities are aligned this year.
In the meantime, below are photos of Michele taken right after her makeup session with Carissa Cielo Medved amd before the pictorial for Metro.Style.
With the latest official shoot of the Bb. Pilipinas 2018 Queens over and done with (watch out for the Raymond Saldaña photos soon!), Michele Gumabao is starting to fine-tune herself for the task of winning yet another Miss Globe crown for the country. While the rumored hosting of Vietnam for this year’s edition has not been announced so far, she is ready to compete wherever the host city or country will be.
Below are photos from her recent makeup session with Carissa Cielo Medved. She has really come a long way – transformation-wise – from her intensive volleyball-playing years.
According to my reliable source, the owners of The Miss Globe Pageant Ltd. are in the thick of negotiations for Vietnam to be the host country of the 2018 edition where our reigning Bb. Pilipinas Globe Michele Gumabao will represent the Philippines. It makes sense considering that last year’s winner is Vietnamese beauty Do Tran Khan Nganh (left photo) who won in Tirana, Albania with our very own Nelda Ibe as 1st Runner-Up.
If talks reach a fruitful conclusion, then Michele will have the advantage of having only a short air travel to her pageant mission. And this also means that support for her can be easily assembled with the reasonable airfare to Vietnam allowing more followers to book a flight going there.
Will update you on this, and the pageant destinations of our other Queens soon.
Just when everyone thought newly-crowned Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2018 Michele Theresa Gumabao got off from her Top 15 Q&A scot-free, some journalists and broadcasters reminded people of the implication of her answer about fake news. I know that she did not mean it that way things sounded in the delivery of her reply. It did really come out as if the mainstream news presenters and news reporters are also liable of doing the same. But I am pretty sure she is directing it to those unscrupulous individuals who actually commit the malicious deed – mostly in social media. Our Queen will be extra careful the next time.
Going back to Michele’s win, this former volleyball superstar and TV reality show personality definitely lived up to the expectations of her fan base – MG Michelins – which got her back since Day 1. And while the title she got is the least among the six to get all excited about, the more important thing is that she is now one of the certified 2018 Queens with the chance to bring pride to the Philippines as its potential 2nd winner in The Miss Globe after Ann Colis. So I guess her hashtag now should read #SpikeForTheGlobe, don’t you think so, dear readers?
Below is a video compilation of her performance during the Bb. Pilipinas 2018 Grand Coronation Night.
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
