Binibini 26 Hannah Sheena Manuel is one of the provincial lasses in this year’s roster of Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Official Candidates. A year ago, the simple Ilocana was just a graduating Business major at the University of La Salette in Santiago, Isabela who was clueless about what she is experiencing in the big city at the moment. Like a thrilling rollercoaster ride, she went from rural to urban so fast that the pace and atmosphere must have been some sort of a culture shock in a good way. And Team Saimak has done all its best to groom and polish 5’9″ Hannah Sheena for the nationals. And if she returns the favor by gunning for glory with all her might, then she just might see herself reaping the rewards of the decision to bite the pageant bullet. Give it your best, girl! 😉

It is interesting to see the two main beauty camp entries among the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Official Candidates when doing a sponsor appearance like the one they had at an outlet of Goldilocks. The ladies of Aces & Queens sat on one long table together, just as the lovelies of Kagandahang Flores took to their corner as a group. Meanwhile, the gems of Team JDV mixed it up with Team Saimak, R-L Angels and the remaining two still-independent contenders.
I wonder if the groupings will still be like this during the homestretch, at least for the two most popular rivals. I’d really like to see everyone start real bonding regardless of affiliations and more on chemistry/personality. At the end of the day, and if their eventual hotel room assignments are distributed according to the order of respective pin numbers, it will be inevitable for inter-camp friendships to develop.
Have a restful post-Valentine Sunday everyone! 🙂
It’s a joy to see these two ladies in action. While they have not registered as strong favorites in the competition yet, people are one in saying that Joy Antonette Diaz and Joy Marie Gangan are the types of beauty who are better appreciated in person.
Gloria Diaz’ niece, in particular, is such a refreshing sight face-to-face. Her online photographs are not always the best. She sparkles in live encounters. On the other hand, the tall eye candy from Isabela – after having been exposed to ramp modeling in the past year or so, exudes such a good-postured stance that compliments her very Pinay features and expressive eyes.
At the onset, pageant followers are saying that Joy Diaz is a shoo-in for one of the crowns because of her connection to Miss Universe 1969. That wouldn’t be fair to everyone, though. I would rather that she rises to the top on her own merits and shine without string-pullings from underneath.
As for Joy Marie, she could be a surprise performer if she plays her game according to plan. It’s going to be one hell of a game, though. Tough but not impossible.
So dear readers, which Joy do you prefer? 🙂
There would have been four (4) had Hannah Marie Caayon made it to the Top 40, but as the final screenings yielded the Official Candidates of Bb. Pilipinas 2014, three (3) were left in the thick of the fight. Three Hannahs, that is. One from Aces & Queens. One from Kagandahang Flores. One from Team Saimak (Isabelanons).
And the individual personalities of the three Hannahs couldn’t be more distinct. Hannah Mariz is the brainy techie-girl-next-door whose undeniably good looks were only discovered after the beauty camp made and dressed her up. Hannah Ruth is the Multimedia Arts instructor whose creative eye and hands are only preceded by her beautiful face and sexy figure. Hannah Sheena is the coy rural lass who was plucked out of anonymity and polished for the nationals.
There’s no doubt that the trio is deserving of their slots in the beauty competition. But who will eventually zoom to the undivided attention of the judges? One of the two first-timers or the repeater? 😉
