Earlier, Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach graced the MAC AIDS Fund Event of the 65th Miss Universe at S Maison – Conrad Hotel where the worldwide cosmetics brand extended their cause for AIDS Awareness in the country and help those living with HIV/AIDS. They were able to raise more than PhP4-M in funds (see video below) for its beneficiaries (one of which is the San Lazaro Hospital).
Together with Queen P, three of the current contestants joined in the well-attended activity – Miss Iceland 🇮🇸 Hildur Maria Leifsdottir, Miss Kenya 🇰🇪 Mary Esther Were and Miss New Zealand 🇳🇿 Tania Dawson – and were game enough to have their faces as canvasses for the make-up artists present as the products were demonstrated for the guests.
By the way, MAC Viva Glam Lipsticks played an important part in the event. If you want to contribute to the charity, purchase one (specifically the #5 shade which Pia uses). It’s for a good cause, after all. 100% of the sale price goes straight to the MAC AIDS Fund.

It was a controversial
activity alright – the swimming with whale sharks (or butandings
) that actually involved an underwater photoshoot of Miss Universe Philippines Maxine Medina and Miss Universe New Zealand Tania Dawson as taken by Cebu-based Russian photographer Sergei Tokmakov. But before we actually slam the ladies themselves, it was something coordinated with the Municipality of Oslob and the Department of Tourism in the first place. It’s a pity that the high-profile ladies are being targetted for something that they were asked to attend based on the schedules during the promotional tour of the 65th Miss Universe kick-off event earlier this month.
Anyways, Maxine was joined by Tania Dawson of New Zealand, Chalita Suansane of Thailand, Dang Thi Le Hang of Vietnam and Li Zhenying of China. Below are some photos from the Oslob visit as taken by Sergei Tokmakov as well.
